i will be so curious to see mta in that league. mta storically play an opposite basket style compared to the balcanian baskeet. it should be a positive or negative shock ,but mainly i hope mta will learn step by step the balcanian style too, that i personally love

You always seemed to like offensive basketball with a lot of three-point shooting. What does it have to do with Balcan hoops?
no
balcanian school is based on defense (all balcanians coach are first of all defensive master),perimeter, multiple moviment of big men
mta storically play pushing the ball , transition , classic pivot
mixing both basket view it woulde be important for us and also having closer all balcanian talents could open new markets
I know, what the Yugo bball school is all about. But since you put some much emphasis on the three-point shot, when talking about this year's MTA, I was wondering about your excitement of Yugo bball, which plays from defense.
Israeli basketball is much faster and more offense based, while MTA can play both styles (notable defensive teams in 2001 and 2011, for example), while its fans mostly prefer pure offense.
The competition in the Adriatic League won't be that stiff but it will be a different brand of basketball, MTA will be playing there. I don't know about scouting of talents. Probably, MTA scouts will pa more attention but as I previously said, whenever a player has perpective there, he is bound to sign a contract with his current team, allowing him to leave in case of a big buout. Even then, the first destination is PAO and then Spanish clubs who are willing to throw around with money. US players of similar caliber can be signed for muh less money.
If there would be another pan-national league for Maccabi to join, I would be rather against the Adriatic League but the only other option is VTB, which doesn't give you a glimpse of young talents (what you prefer) and the flights are longer.
In any case, MTA would have to use a wider rotation in order to play in three leagues, while aiming high in all of them.
Anyone knows how many MTA fans going to the Final Four? 8,000 Israelis?
the reports in Israel are so general...
everyone is like ''3,500 to 7,000''...which is really not a problem to say..it's like saying that there would be between 0 to 16,000(the amount of seats in the arena)people in the arena
what we know for sure is that 3,500 Maccabi fans already bought tickets..
Any updates about Maccabi joining NLB? Any articles in Israeli news?
yesterday there was a big one..the title was ''who does Maccabi thing they're threatening?'' because Maccabi says that they will leave the Israeli league and join the Adriatic..
2 things caught my eye:
1)Maccabi can't leave the Israeli league because EL regulations says that all teams are obligated to play their domestic leagues(which I knew already).
2)Maccabi talked about a solution where they might join the Adriatic but won't leave the Israeli league..
they'll play their strongest roster against NLB teams and use young players from the youth department+some players that didn't get a lot of minutes in the NLB to secure the 8th place..
in my opinion..that's the best solution..
I can't wait to watch the other teams trying to avoid 1st place so they won't have to play against Maccabi

That would be hilarious... but I don't think Maccabi would have the guts to do it, also it would be a risk to shoot for 8th place..and maybe miss and hit 9th ( gulp)

If things get risky when the season gets close to an end you can always let the main team play a few games to secure a playoff spot. Plus, I'm pretty sure Maccabi's youth and out-of-rotation players can get much better spot than the 8th.. I won't be surprised if they'll even get the home advantage for the playoffs.
Actually that's pretty much the best solution, you get what you want-
A)Better competition (NLB league)
B)Playing time for young players and players that don't get many playing time at Euroleague and NLB
C)You hurt the league administration because a league with no Maccabi (Maccabi's in the league but playing with some sort of 2nd team) and get a small revenge for the Final-Four system, cuz only crazy people will pay as much sponsorship and TV rights to this fucked up league when they lost their only interesting team which will only play at playoffs.

Yeah, but in your heart you know they won't do it... not with the "lets make the team more Israeli" atmosphere , and Mizrachi getting His Award...
But maybe, just maybe the leauge would agree to let maccabi skip the "waste of time" part of the season and join later like some of the other Adriati teams do.

they would never allow that..
when the whole Mediterranean League concept was revealed they talked about letting the team that would play in the Mediterranean League go back to their domestic leagues in time for the playoffs to begin..
Kopel said that there is no way that he will allow a team to play the playoffs only..
