Fischer doesn't fit into the concept. He is very bad when switching in offense, he can't play with his back to the basket, he can't create his own shots and his one-on-one defense isn't very good, too. He is a tall center and he has a good midrange jumper. And he costs a lot. For a player who wouldn't play more than 20 minutes (rather 17-18) and cannot dominate, he is too expensive. More importantly, he is not a player for a team of MTA'S concept. Joel Freeland would rather be such a player but he is under contract with Unicaja.

Without Eidson, there will be too much streetballing and not enough team-oriented IQ on the floor. It's too tough to replace him with an adequate player but if Pnini continues his good job, he would get more minutes at the same position (SF). However, Pnini is not Eidson and can't help ou in ever department.

Having said that, I won't participate in a discussion regarding these two. The season is still under way and I don't see the need to complain about the given roster. Eidson has been the best player on MTA during the regular season at a time where Blu was not a big offensive factor and Pargo wasn't great, too. These two got their act together, while life got tougher for Eidson. So he scored less as a result. So what? His overall performance didn't suffer. He could still pass, defend and read the game, controlling the tempo. If he doesn't get any calls, he will finish a playoff game with 1/5 FG. If he gets some of the calls, he's 1/2 with six more free throws. When Pargo is in the zone and dominates the ball, while logging in major minutes, Eidson won'T score as much as shooters who are in a zone. Eidson has had seasons, where he was great from the 3PT but he is not a deadly shooter. He likes to mix things up. He is a keeper. Guys who were mentioned previously, like Matt Walsh are by any means not better scorers (remember Eidson in Vilnius?) and far worse overall players. Finally, it will be the management's decision, whether to extend him or not. I'm all for it. He is good for this team. A very unselfish and very useful player.
dont know for m120 but , i wasnt considering fischer a similar player as eidson. i simply hope eidson out and i d dream fischer him. i wasnt considering that place on court. fischer is a great big man. eidson is a normal small player

    • a question about perkins
he is a lovely guy, and he'd deserve a moral agreement for next year
      but
when f.a. player wanna go to earn much more , they don't consider morality. so i thunk in those cases , teams shouldnt confirm players whi are injuried. thjey have insurance, they knows their risk.
also , the injury of perkins is something that really cant let u be sure ,he will be the same in future.
so,to follow moralility just one way (team to players) and confirm him ,or to consider techincal view?
i have doubt but porbably an half salary could be the right way

before he got injured I said they have to re-sign him..even for 850K or 1M$..
        now that he's injured..with a possible career-ending injury..
I still think they should re-sign him..but for 500K..no more..
Maccabi should stand by him...give him a contract so he can focus on his recovery..but not the same contract he deserved before the injury..because he won't be the same Perkins when he comes back..

100% agree. i only think even 550m is tooo much actually
that kind of injury is something that rarely let a player come back as before, mainly because perkins was an incredibile jumper
do somebody knows something about torrance?

he's now being payed 500K per year..so I think that lowering his salary isn't the greatest Idea..keeping it the same is the right thing to do..

as for Torrance..I think he's ok..but he's not playing professional basketball right now...and even if he was I wouldn't want Maccabi to sign him..
the last thing I want would be to see him collapsing in Tel-Aviv

Morris was very LAZY.... Yes he shoots great ( we felt it this year) and had some blocks... but he never seemed to really care... put his body in defence when needed etc... like he was always worried of getting hurt

What are you talking about? With all due respect to Morris, he's a big player who hasa nice stroke from the outside but he can't dribble, can't create his own shot and can't post up. He is a very good shot blocker but individually he is nothing more than a solid defender. He is a solid role player. On Maccabi I considered him to be the team glue in defense but there is nothing in his game, why he should be overpaid like he is now and nothing that could be called a "rare player".

yes i know, for u lasme is better (silly but respectable opion!)
morris is one rare case of big man with both defensive skill, great presence under the basket and a smooth shot by the distance even over the arch. what else in a player??
anyway u can stay tranquil , he ll not come back to mta. to expensive and also , when u have no grat budget, well for managment is easuer confirm hendrix instead of bringing morris. imho ,the differenses beetwen those two player is the differens there is beetwen a jumbo and a fiat punto

since i think u use to overvaluate players who are in mta, i m so sorry i didn't know u when morris playerd with us. i m sure u talked diferently about him. i try always to judge players not considering passion or where they are playing actually.at the beginning of the season i had to read by u that even burstein has a sense in mta.
hey goga, can u tell me one player from our roster u dont like? please at least one.

                            • What about Macvan's last game???Pure perfection,5/5 FT,10/10 2pointers holly shit!!!OK it was an easy match but it looks like a good sign that he's adopted to Blatt system so everybody in the Final 4 watch out!!!!

Lasme is a great role player a defensive stalwart and defensive glue of every team but not a superstar or a "rare" player like you called Morris. For you, every player who left Maccabi for a major club is a great and "rare" player, while those who stayed are mediocre. You can't help ourself other than talking this team bad.

Again, offensively, Morris has never had a presence under the basket. He isn't physically strong, he can't play with his back to the basket and he can't create his own shot. To spend 1,5 - 1,8 million Euros on such a player is not acceptable for Maccabi. He isn't worth it and he is 32 already. His athleticism is slowly but surely decreasing. Hendrix on the other hand was the ACB revelation last season. He is 24, much cheaper, still developing and he has had a season, where he has been not less effective for MTA than Morris has been for Barcelona, while Maccabi is in the Final Four and Barca isn't. Plus, he was forced to play out of position and adapt to his new role in Blatt's system, which took time but he got better with each round. The tougher the play got, the better he played.

Hendrix surely doesn't have the role Morris has had in Tel-Aviv yet, but Moris has got older since then, while Hendrix is just getting started.
