Although I believe that Spanoulis will have a good career as a coach, I think he is very inexperienced to juggle two things at the same time. Having said that, I also believe that he has the gravity to rally all the top players around him, which should (in theory) be enough for us to qualify for the Olympics.

Ofcourse we should wait and see if Papanikolaou has an issue that Spanoulis is also coach of Peristeri, like he had with Pitino when he was also coach of Panathinaikos

Meh, these things happen and it's not like professional athletes are great thinkers that are impervious to biases. We (as a nation) should start focusing on more important things.

I wish Spanoulis the best. Though I don't think he is as good as Itoudis, yet. But hey, there is no way Itoudis coaching skills will compensate for the top players absentees. Hope Greece can fetch a full roster. Only then can we compete with the best.

Not gonna happen, and it doesn't matter where his mom is from. That's how everyone gets their citizenship (for the most part) It happened once with Calathes, it's not going to happen again in the forseeable future unless a true exceptional case comes along.
