So the so-called greek defense identity went bananas already in the first game. Greeks had a problem to defend at the perimeter in the very last seconds of the possesion. I thought that they wont to keep the opponent at 70 pts maximum. Whatsoever Dom-Rep guards are super good 3pt shooters. It was hard to defend them.

The ball repeatedly landed at Kalathis instead of the best 3-point shooter. Fortunately, he then converted at least two of these shots. In one situation, the shooter got the ball where the defender was standing without having time to pass again. The shot was correspondingly poor.

I thinks we saw the same but we interprete it differently. The dominican defense guarded all good shooters and left Calathes free on purpose. So thats the down side of the "ball rotation strategy" if at the end the weakest shooter gets the ball to shoot. Thats why he heistated to shoot because he knows that he is the weakest shooter. So in this situation there are two options either you take the shot the defense gives you or you pass the ball to a better player. He did both but it would have been better if the game system would leave a better shooter open than Kalathes. This is my criticism not that Kalathes took the shots.

I honestly can't see Slovenia winning against Greece, the only positive thing is that they're playing in semis after 1 day of rest, it would have been even less possible in the Final.

After Nikolic got injured and coach finally understood that Cancar and Muric can't help much after being out for a year, I have seen some players playing 10+ minutes, who I didn't know that even exist a week ago.

Seems he is an oversized shooting guard. The farther away from the basket the more comfortable he feels.

I did not like greek offense in the game against Croatia. The only game plan they had was to shoot threes and field goals. They really struggled in the set play. We are back to the old problem on how to introduce Giannis in FIBA play. The only improvement to other years is that Giannis does not commit any offensive fouls anymore. With such an offensive system we have no chance to survive the killer group at the Olympics. I am very pessimistic.
