Greece is on tough group alongside USA, NZL and Jordan... I see a guarantee win vs Jordan and possibly NZL, but i expected a lose vs USA... Then the crucila game in 2nd round is against Lithuania... The question will be will Giannis play?

Hopefully, Giannis will be healthy and will seek to participate, considering it will be one of his last tournaments with NT.

I predict giannis has until 5 prime years to Greece… he has no Olympic stint yet, unlike doncic and jokic that has already Olympic stints, Giannis still has not, and it will affect his legendary status since Olympic stint is one of the criteria on landing in the hall of fame status… I think this is his best shot to qualify for the Olympics… if Greece beat Lithuania in the 2nd round, then they have manageable QF match up against either Serbia or Italy in A/B bracket… A semis stint will likely guarantee an Olympic spot since France already taken one of the spots and if US and France both make it to the semis, They will automatically qualified for Olympics next year… Giannis needs Olympic stint to add to his legendary resume in modern basketball era…

There's no such thing as Giannis being out yet. All this stuff is just speculation at this point, people linking Sloukas' decision with Giannis not playing as well. I doubt it but also can't disagree with the fact it's a logical scenario.

If there were personal issues between Itoudis and Dorsey, there would not have been made efforts for Dorsey to be considered 100% greek so that both him and Walkup could participate. So, I guess Itoudis will include whoever is in better shape.

Maybe the federation will withdraw participation and offer its spot to Turkey as an additional incentive for Turkey<->Greece appeasement politics.
So for sure this development is a big blow for the plans and ambitions of the new federation president.

Itoudis was supposed to train all year long the greek players of Fener especially for the national team preparation. And now neither Calathes nor Dorsey or Kostas Antentokoumpo will play??

Actually am very excited about this Greek team. Sloukas is a miss, but on the other hand Mitoglou is in, in whatever shape. He is needed. And there's also Walkup.

As for Calathes, he will be substituted by a shooter. The next generation of Greek players deserves a chance. I believe some of the young guards are underrated. Perhaps they are not at the level of Calathes, but they may be a better fit for this national team.

I like the fact that two stars are missing. It will be good for the team. As long as Giannis is there.
