So how will be the set up of that?

I'm not quite sure how this co-organisation will be done. The only information written is that if Greece qualifies for EuroBasket 2025, it will play its group games in Limassol in September 2025.

I think Greece might lose twice this window but it doesn't matter anyway since they are qualified to the WC... Just give some other players who want to represent the country and also exposure to youngsters...

After watching the game against Serbia, I think Greece is pretty solid after the Calathes, Sloukas, Papanikolaou generation. Looking into the next 6 years it seems that Moraitis, Latrentzakis, Kalaitzakis, Mouratos, Dorsey, Lountzis will be a decent pool of guards to choose from for the future of Greek basketball. And it looks like Rogkavopoulos is becoming a good sub for Papanikolaou, while Chougkaz, Agravanis and Mitoglou (assuming that he will be part of the team in the future) will be solid enough at four.

Let me be clear, I mean to say that these players are more than decent to surround Giannis. They are perhaps even a better fit for Giannis and modern basketball than the previous generation because they are better shooters. I would definitely consider adding Moraitis and Rogkavopoulos on the main team starting next year. They are better shooters than Papapetrou and Lountzis. This will bring more fire power on the team.
On that note, heads up for coach Spanoulis for giving some of his vibe to Moraitis.

Larentzakis and Kalaitzakis bros are not play making guards in any kind. Moraitis, Mouratos and Lountzis must be seen but they wont even come close to what Sloukas or Calathes were in their primes. Mouratos is the one I like. Moraitis made a good game.

And it looks like Rogkavopoulos is becoming a good sub for Papanikolaou
Papanikolaou cant be compared to Rogkavopoulos in any kind. Rokgavopoulos is a great spot up shooter who has some upside to shoot also off the dribble and he is a great offensive rebounder but a bad defender. Papanikolaou is a great defender especially his transition defense is one of the best alongside Kalinic but he is pretty limited offensively.

Let me be clear, I mean to say that these players are more than decent to surround Giannis.
Well thats the thing. Giannis is not eternal young. He should become 30 2024 and with 31 his decline should start. He is a player who relies much on his explosiveness and his knee makes a lot of trouble. Thats the problem with the generations for the countries with too few good prospects.

Small steps Toruko. Small steps. None of these players are near the level of Sloukas or Calathes. But one or two need to make a leap in the next years. Besides, they don't have to be better than Calathes or Sloukas individually. Perhaps the Greek national team doesn't need to many 'star' players. Greece needs a great team alongside Giannis.

Right now, it's all about who can fill in some minutes for Calathes and Sloukas.

Is this true? Greece will take naturalized player too?

He is a better option than Dorsey.

Walkup has been playing in Greece since 2021 but already he feels Greek
I don't think it's right for our national team.

Yeah, since Dorsey and Walker's skill talent are almost same... It will be determine who among them are better fit with the team, since Giannis needs a back up scorer, Dorsey has been disappointing last Eurobasket, He was supposed to be 2nd guy for Greece.... And Walker also knows more of Greek culture than Dorsey (not saying he doesn't know), he will be like more by his teammates....

Haha....seems we are all Greek for the right price.

This just keep the tradition of Greek coaches needing to coach in English alive and well. Or has it always been that way since the team has always had Americans?

Well, this seems to have been the deal in order for him to get the 4-year contract with Olympiacos.
If you ask me, he should pay for the greek passport, not get paid..

Yes, the team has always have Americans with greek roots, like Bramos, Calathes bros, Dorsey, who don't speak Greek but in my opinion their greek origin is enough.

I still hope that Walkup will not play for our national team and that this happened just to free up a position for an American player to Olympiacos.

                              Best possible group for Greece:

                              Philippines
                              Greece
                              NZL
Any of Angola or Ivory Coast

(Note: Because PHL is an Asian team, Greece can't face any Asians in POT 7 and Iran in POT 5 as per FIBA draw new procedure, while NZL is Oceania, they are separated w/ Asia)

                              Worst case group for Greece:

                              USA
                              Greece
Finland w/ Markannen or DR w/ KAT
Any of POT 7 teams (Doesn't matter because any of those in POT 7 are very beatable for Greece, But in POT 7, Japan w/ Hachimura and Watanabe are tough team in that POT)

I still guarantee Greece will make it to the 2nd round even they will be grouped w/ USA, Greece still have slight advantage over Finland even w/ Markannen or DR w/ KAT.... But Greece should not expect easy game against Finland or DR because having their own superstars in their team will elevate their game due to high confidence given by their star players w/ Markannen or KAT....

Greece is on tough group alongside USA, NZL and Jordan... I see a guarantee win vs Jordan and possibly NZL, but i expected a lose vs USA... Then the crucila game in 2nd round is against Lithuania... The question will be will Giannis play?
