Credible sources claim that he already agreed the terms Efes offered. I don't know Roy, maybe he changed his mind. Players' decisions are so changeable in these days, one player transfers to two teams in a few hours
Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability. Perception, intelligence and morality assist it as well. The strong with less intelligence and comprehension can not cope with the less strong but with sufficient intelligence and comprehension. I like the sportsman who is intelligent, agile as well as morally upright.

Birkan Batuk has signed 2+1 year contract with Efes.
I don't know who thought this was a good idea but Efes fans definitely did not. there is a large protest going on in the streets (of twitter)

I don't think he is terrible, I don't understand the frustration. Furkan is long gone, maybe Cedi too and we could not sign Sinan, so there are really not many options if you are looking for someone who can shoot 3s and play "not so bad" defence and also Turkish.

There are options, Ogulcan Baykan, Onuralp Bitim etc but Perasovic did not seem like a coach who would trust them. Mutaf is also sent I'm afraid.
so it does not matter who is signed, they will not play any way.

we should blame turkish talent pool for that, we have a jinxed generation.

birkan shoots bricks. birkan might be a good person but he's not a good player. let's face it, our latest generation is botched.

Eh I will wait until Furkan and Cedi (if ever) get kicked out of NBA. Until then let's hold our horses.

the problem is us having furkan and cedi solely.

we had not have a better player since SİNAN. (not counting enes the cultist)

I've been watching youth tournaments for many years by now, and I am quite aware that many bright prospects do not become good players at senior level, but our 95-97 generation was special. They still are. it's a crime on TBL coaches and federations that these kids are still not breaking out. The talent is there, but we cannot even judge them. I wish we could at least say yeah they could not play among men...

I'm happy Furkan left, not because he'd be star over there or anything, but because Efes did not deserve him with 2 mpg on a position that they suffered heavily. Peras won't use any Turkish player, so it doesn't matter if Birkan is good or not, and he really is not, he never was.

It's like making wine. you have a good harvest yet you can't make even one good bottle out of it.

                        it's called a botch.

it's all the same for us turkish basketball enthusiasts, we are looking for new a ibo, new okur, new hidayet, new hüseyin etc. look at fenerbahçe topic, us fans wanting to see belinelli in fener jersey like we were so quenched to see another ibo hitting threes casually.

we yearn for times when we had kerem, ibo, hidayet, okur and hüseyin. no matter how good the grapes are if you can't make a good wine out it it doesnt matter. It's a matter of not giving them the big stage or them not deserving to perform upon it. I don't think our new generation deserve to perform on the big stage.

you are right about everything else.

                        edit:

I watched nearly all EL matches this season, not a single prospect caught my eye other than guduric. we need to ask ourselves why we can't produce talent, I already know why but I don't want to meddle politics with sports. but it has become a policy to pump mediocracy into everything in turkey.

edit2: in topic. efes got rid of stupid assholes and built a stronger team for next season, another f8 won't surprise me.

At last we agree about one player and that is Birkan. His bricks makes him very dangerous player, for his own team and for board.
His 5-10 minutes could be given to some prospect with the same impact on the quality.

I like the wine analogy; you need good grapes to start with, but the process is more important.

However, I'm not convinced about our harvesting process either. I remember Mirsad and Hido turning around EL games at the age 18. Ibo was a unique talent. I personally do not expect to find these 3, that would be a gift from god, But we should have been able to produce new Besok, Okur, Tunceri, Sarica, Erdogan, Gonlum etc etc. At the moment, the drought is so bad that we do not have even have a 2nd grade talent at the level of Bekir Yarangume, Semsettin Bas, Tutku Acik, etc. Sinan is at this level, he shines more due to lack of better players. This is strange and can happen if there is a deliberate attempt to botch the process, when the goals of the teams/coaches do not align with the best interest of Turkish bball.

                            • From what I saw Josh Adams seems to me as ok player for Efes. Short but atletic guard with decent IQ and solid shoting technics. He can penetrate too which is his main plus

I think you might be making a mistake when you say we don't have a talent at the level of Bekir Yarangüme etc. These guys were getting playing time due to foreigner limit and our teams were in a worse situation as can be seen by the sudden increased success of Turkish teams in Europe. So we are not better in terms of overall player quality, but we are not significantly worse too, it's just that now no serious Turkish team can afford to give mediocre Turkish players more playing time than they "deserve" - it means no European success or no domestic success, or worse, relegation. One alternative to that is to use young Turkish prospects, as Yeşilgiresun did - you know you won't be the champion, but those young guys' performance/price ratio is always better than "pay me or won't play" Semih Erden.
