I remember that at the beginning of the season i wrote that Pao's roster seemed to be more complete, giving them the better prospects.

The season didn't fully confirm this theory, Oly played with great passion, energy and good organization, reaching the euro final.

But at the end it was not enough to win something. Pao's roster is indeed richer offering more solutions especially under the paint and this proved to be the decisive factor.

It is a pity that Birch's mind was elsewhere, he played a great season but at the end he spoiled every positive judgement he had received previously.

It's confirmed today by Giannakopoulos what already was written many times in Greek media, when Dimitrakis took over he reduced the budget because of the crisis. Well now Obra didn't want to work with a reduced budget and demanded to raise it from 13 to 15 (it was reduced from a much higher number to 13 before) and used some excuses that the fans would protest blabla. Giannakopoulos also wrote that all those previous years he had gotten blanco cheques to get what ever player he wanted at PAO.

In Greece everybody including PAO fans know what kind of 'wonder coach' Obradovic is. Even I would be one with the gigantic budgets he has worked with and is currently working with.

So Obradovic was invited by a Greek site to answer some questions earlier today, in some of them he was asked if the reason why he left the team had to do with the budget. Like every time he has been asked he replied, "no as I've said that's a matter of respect, in 2003-2005 period we had an even less budget and were playing in a really small gym, we even lost Bodiroga so the reason why I left in 2012 had nothing to do with the budget, otherwise I'd have already left. Then DG posts a photo with some US dollars in his instagram account where he mocks Obradovic's reasoning ("respect "). And then comes a site which he owns to post that document of him, Itoudis and Obradovic discussing about their and the team's future. It's a 7min video but obviously that's a totally illegal action so I might not post it. It's in English though so you could be able to understand it.

DG claims that he'd like him to stay 10 more years, like Ferguson in United. He says I can guarantee you a 10M for this year but we can increase it by 2, 3 and 5M in years to come. Obradovic says every year we are losing our most important players, we can't compete with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Siena etc and people will be against us when we lose. What's ridiculous is that Pedoulakis later had the same budget that Obradovic demanded (15M). Imo none of them wanted to work with each other.

I have read it and don't know if it's true as I can't watch it, but it is said that Obradovic wanted the budget to be 15 instead of 13 to keep the core. DG rejected it and offered 25% of team share to Obradovic, which he refused. And now DG tries to make it look like Obradovic left to have more money for himself? Great logic... NOT.
