  • EL 2024/25 - Round 1

    Hi everyone,

The season is starting this week.

    Round 1 games:
    • Alba Berlin - Panathinaikos
    • Monaco - EA7 Milano
    • Zalgiris - Barcelona
    • Baskonia - Partizan
    • Bayern Munich - Real Madrid
    • Maccabi Tel Aviv - Asvel
    • Fenerbahce - Olympiakos
    • Paris Basket - Crvena Zvezda
    • Virtus Bologna - Anadolu Efes
I was not paying much attention to summer moves, but 5 out of 9 games look very tight to me.
5 out 6 scientists say Russian roulette is safe.

    Trinchierhi the master.
Almost, any decision Zalgiris' players does make sense. Extremely well prepared for 1st game in Euroleague, and excellent exploited Barcelona's lacks.

Nice win for Pao. From the 1st till the last second we had a lead. At the end Nunn, Sloukas, Grant decided the game like always. Juancho had really good game and that is really positive. Hopefully he will keep shooting and playing in the offense with the confidence.

I was watching Pao but I can see Milano had 26 whooping points for the half. For almost 3 quarters, they had 35 shots. Lineup with Bolmaro - Causeur - Ricci - Leday - McCormack is pure Messina's ball. I am just shocked he plays with Bolmaro at PG. I've expected Nebo at PG. Just give me as much power forwards, centers, old players and average Italian players in the lineup

Well deserved win for Zalgiris, i like roles of domestic players but without guy who can create for others and sweet talker as coach i dont see them finishing in Top 10.
Btw, Dunston welcoming to EL block on Metu was dope.

                It's the Milano way.

Their loyalty to Messina is a real outlier among Euroleague teams.
I wonder if Mirotic regrets not signing elsewhere last year?

Messina still thinks we are in 2002. Every offense they play till the last second. Just waiting for the mismatch and then they take long 2 point shots. They play like Paok in 2015 with Tsochlas as a main PG. To win 59-57.

Btw, Barca's fans had to watch Jokubaitis doing cardio for 3 years and then they decided to sign Nunez...ofc, let's not forget sniper from Czech Republic, Mister Bricks, Satoransky. Their best guard is stil Laprovittola. And then you have Anderson on the SF....Hernangomez who can't defend my grandparents in the p&r. Lovely

I really liked the way Zalgiris played. Fransisco seemed pretty dominant on his drives to the basket meanwhile Bradzeikis seemed as a completely different player than last year. There is something about Lithuanians playing for Zalgiris that I swear gives them a +5 stat boost. I don't understand Barca's coach choice. Baffling decision.

Nice and easy win for Pao. Premieres are always weird but I think we dominated and even when Alba came close, it didn't seem like we were in danger. Alba obviously is not a team that will provide any insight but last year's guard lineup was (expectedly) good and the new signings seemed to fit. Yurtseven was more than decent for his role. If Juancho can keep his defensive tenacity from last year and add a couple of threes per game, we'll be very strong. Unfortunately Mitoglou continues to be bad.

That was pure basketball magic. Tsochlas - Dedas - Margaritis. In total them 3 per game they would have abour 120 years, 14 fouls, 11 turnovers and they would shoot 23%.
