Some of the reason PANATHINAIKOS was, is and will forever be the biggest and greatest club in europe. only a few clubs like real, csska and maccabi are close to us, but even them are below the green giant. The only ones disrespecting the great PANATHINAIKOS are some turkish in social media or their GM that perhaps wants to be favored by their fans, who came from football. Just like loserbiakos, fener has almost 0 basketball fans, they both cant accept defeat and every time they lose they attack opponents like they did against monaco at 4th game. sometimes, even their own players, like loserbiakos attacking chlidress with pee and shit or attacking bartzokas-mr bean at the parking place after losing to 16 year old papagiannis and diamantakos

Not that I would refer to your wisdom in matters of fandom, but I agree with you on two points: 1) PAO's appreciation of their ex-members is really cool. As far as I can see it's mutual and organic. 2) Fener fans' treatment of their own players is sometimes pathological (see Andersen, see Devin Smith, see Yurtseven, see Udoh after the guy won the fricking EL title for them).

I always wanted to know what problem he has with Pao fans since he left for Armani. I remember when he came back from the NBA in Pao, he was so loved. He would always signing jerseys near the parking after the game. Taking pics...etc. and then boom, the end. I think he actually thought he will stay in Pao and get the contract Calathes got. And then all of this with Olympiacos last summer happened but for sure relationship with him is one of the weirdest and I don't understand fans that still have some huge emotional connection. Sure, we won b2b titles in Greece when he played but it's wasn't only because of him.

Yeah, maybe it's the other side of the "coin" that Levenspiel talks about. Fans getting attached way too easily. I never understood the connection with Mike James either. He's a weird guy, always fucking tweeting stuff, and who can forget that he injured himself after an argument with Pedoulakis. Unprofessional, arrogant, hasn't won anything to back it up.

Not sure if you know of this trivia, but before Saras came to Pao, the Oly media considered him a done deal for Oly. When he arrived at the airport for the first time, someone put a scarf of Olympiakos around his neck and he took it off and tossed it. This is the kind of stuff that can elevate a player's status for Pao fans (and any fans I guess) especially when it's backed with good gameplay and titles.

Yeah I know about this. Money as always was/is the problem. I don't blame him. At the end of the day you can't expect everyone to be foreigner like Batiste but I do blame fans for showing him some "love" when he doesn't give a damn about us.
