Yeah its the same guy but his understanding of the game was almost non existent during his Besiktas time but he has developed a lot since then it seems. Like I said, offensively he is still meh but he can stay in front of guards in the NCAA and is a prolific rebounder and he looks like a very good fast break running big. I am pretty sure that he will develop further more in the future.

The first guy that comes in mind for the replacement is without a doubt Omer Yurtseven. His liabilities on the defensive end are concerning though. But I have another name in mind. The SMU 7'2 Big Samet Yigitoglu is ready to play Euroleague right away. He is a defensive minded, fast legged, hard playing big who does not shy away from contact and his BBIQ is growing from day to day.

Offensively, he does not offer very much but he runs fast and finishes with high percentage under the rim. His touch is not great. He is comparable to Papagiannis just in that point but Unlike Big George he is a rebound monster in the making. He surely could play 15 years high level basketball.

Mitoglou should become ataman's pleiss and move to center position and PANATHINAIKOS brings moneke or somebody else to boost atheticism even more and let giannis brother go somewhere else. after all antetokunbos are paid for political reasons and because they are giannis' brothers. if that wasnt the case then both would be sent back to nigeria or play for a random 3 division league, they are not mentally or skilled enough to play professional basketball. osman will stay if he finishes the season good, PANATHINAIKOS is at a point right now where we can keep any player we want in the team. something like csska in the previous decade.

as for the guards, as said multiple times, PANATHINAIKOS will get micic if he comes to europe. brown's contract doesnt mean anything, he will get some money like vildoza and he will be free to go join his next team. there is no limit to the budget anyway, DPG has said it himself 2 summers ago, when he brought ataman, that the budget for next 3 seasons (this is the 2nd) is 100M total. if micic doesnt come to europe, then maybe brown stays and we see next summer what happens. with grant and nunn we are secured anyway.

as for nunn's case, i think he will get the extension anyway, the problem will be the nba out clause. my guess is that it stays for this summer, but increased to get the salary increase as well and no clause will be on contract for the next summers. after all if he doesnt leave this summer, i dont see him leaving at all after that. there wont be anything else (i think he gets mvp this season + possible b2b titles) that he can do to persuade nba teams to give him contract. i dont think he gets a contract until 15th july anyway.

Then there is no other choice for us but give Yurtseven to Efes for Poirier or Oturu. I think I could live with that

Its a very good year for him to show his value but hell go somewhere else where he can at least play 20-25 minutes.

Ataman could surprise with Grigonis (the Lithuanian cyclist) because he loves guys who can play pick and roll games from the forward position and stretches the floor but he is injured most of the time.

I agree mostly with the rest.

If Banchi isn't capable to control wild, suicide and stupid plays and shoots by Bryant(all the time) and sometimes Nwora and Thompson, then he won't be upgrade over Mijatovic.

He is not offensive minded coach and now you give him Efes' coaching spot where you have so many offensive talent...I can bet everything that in a few weeks you will see Smits and Darius playing 25-30 minutes each game. Wherever he was a coach he didn't make a result. But we will see, but honestly, Mijatovic disappointed me a lot. When they told him he will be sacked he had to tell them to f off. After this he will never ever coach any EL team but it seems he feels nice in Istanbul and doesn't want to leave...I remember when DPG said almost the same to Pedoulakis, and Argyris left immediately and didn't even want to hear anything.
Efes will always be able to score 80 plus points. The defense is horrible, the defensive effort is horrible, there is no defensive game plan discernible. Banchi can implement a defensive game plan and it will work on the short and the long term.

Also I have no idea what will happen with Grigonis. He has a contract till 2027...but idk. I wouldn't be shocked to hear Ataman will not count next year on him. If Osman and Yurtseven keep playing like this then they should stay. I think Osman will be better and better this season and I think he will get multiple year contract. Not sure about Omer. Other positions are secured with Lessort and Juancho staying.

I am thinking already about next season. Panathinaikos has on the paper not very young team and all important players and most of the players have contracts at least till 2026. But I was thinking - Grant will be next season 33, Sloukas 36, Lorenzo 35...everyone hopes Nunn will stay. I mean, if we lose him we are so screwed. Realistically speaking, next year Sloukas should play 15 minutes...like Diamantidis played under Djordjevic. Grant looks great and I am not worried about him at all...but, if we keep Nunn then what are we doing with Lorenzo if he keeps playing like this?

I seriously think Nunn deserves at least 5M per year and I think he will get maybe even 18M on 3 years without NBA clause. There is no way he can get better money after taxes in the NBA as a 30 yo undersized guard who wants bigger role and has history with injuries. I think he definitely knows that and wants to negotiate as best possible salary so I think he will stay. But if you give him this kind of money we can't expect to get some huge name as a replacement for Lorenzo. Also Lorenzo has a 3yr contract worth 1.8M per season...no one will take this contract. He looks good physically but he is not playing good at all. Ok, everything can change but if it doesn't then idk...If we need to change him then I would love some type of combo guard. Not pure PG but combo. Something like Baldwin. If Baldwin keeps playing like this he might also leave Fener. Ofc Maledon or Shorts let say would be great but I don't think Ataman will search for someone like them. Anyway, we need someone who will help Nunn and Grant because Sloukas is already becoming injury prone and we need to think about future. And if Nunn doesn't stay then lord help us...

Also I have no idea what will happen with Grigonis. He has a contract till 2027...but idk. I wouldn't be shocked to hear Ataman will not count next year on him. I like Errick McCollum signing, his age is last what is important in this moment, Whoever watched last night game could have good lough on Mays passing, I mean guy is so comic that I can't even bash him. It's a proof that NBA isn't benchmark for quality in terms what EL system needs
