  • EuroLeague Rising Star 2022/2023

LOL, Yam Madar with worse stats both regular season and playoffs than Jokubaitis was named the Rising Star Not to mention Jokubaitis played for incomparably more stacked team. Bodiroga is doing good job. Strong start.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

    Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
    Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
    Buzelis, Lelevicius
    Murauskas, Sirvydis
    Tubelis, Krivas

Jokubaitis was marginally better imo and he already won the award once.

So basically Euroleague robbed Jokubaitis in 2020/21 season when Garbuna was no-body all season long and just had 2 good playoffs games (players voted for Jokubaitis) and now they robbed him just because Madar playing for Partizan. Classy. And then EL wants to be serious league. There's no standards, just random decisions.

Only statistically. In terms of real basketball and maturity of the game, Madar is Jokubaitis' student. He'll never be close to Jokubaitis decision making, IQ, facilitation.

I generally think Smailagic should have won.

when you considering 3 diffrent 5 ppts average players

What about Filip Petrusev 10,7pts average this season? all those 4 players are born in 2000

Unless criteria is that rising star must be from playoofs team

You need to have turned 22 on July 1st. Petrusev is a bit older than that.

that's a good pick. More impactful than Madar, imho.

the overall stats do not show it (5.7ppg in 14.5mpg), but Gabriele Procida (2002) was a nice surprise for me this year. I think he's going to be special.

Yeah Petrusev seems a much more logical choice than both of them. Now I can't understand someone with a statline 5.5 / 2 / 2.5 has been robbed from someone with a 6 / 1 / 1.5 one.

Smailagić will be at least a useful rotational player at this level if he ever learns to stay on the floor without fouling. He is one of the players that will mature later.

No one was impressive this season, Euroleague is dry on young talent.

Madar playoffs efficiency 8,2. Jokubaitis 14,7.

                            He was not eligible.
