But you can't win all the time and how you deal with those moments is very important. If you deal with losing a final, the same way as you deal with finishing second to last, then you're just wrong.

You said before that Sloukas will be new Partizan player, and we all know what happened. So, is it done deal or no? How sure is it?

No one knows yet. It seems like Mirotic has said that he won't come to Greece and that one of Armani, Monaco are the most likely destinations.

I can't find any logic behind it. If 3rd place had the same "value" with last place, there would not be given any bronze medal or prize money for example to the holder of 3rd position.

Although that would be amazing, we've seen time and time again that teams are built, not bought. This Pao team will be 95% new. Chemistry is super important. People write off Oly because they lost 2 players but you will see how they will again be in the top 4 teams based on their plan and chemistry.

For our first year I just want to see normal basketball, normal coach decisions, players that put effort. I want to see a decent fight for a playoffs spot. If we miss it for minor details I can find it understandable. It's ok. New team.

But for the second year, conditioned on the fact that the team is now 95% the same, I will have increased expectations. 4-5-6 place shouldn't be out of reach. I will judge the team at the end of the second year, not before they play a single game just based on the budget.

Building a team needs patience. Especially from DPG.

I believe that time credit is given more easily to a team that is built from scratch with low-cost players.
When you sign a coach with back to back EL titles who chooses himself expensive and successful players to build a team the way he wants, can't get the same time credit.

When you look, last PAO's good team was in the 16-17 (17-18 had few additions)Whole team was basically new except Gist and Calathes. You had James, Singleton, Rivers, Nichols, Bourousis, Gentile arrived and also Pascual came in the 2rd round of the Euroleague. So no preseason with him as a coach and that team looked really well. And if these transfers which we are waiting for turns out as they should be big names then this squad is much better. Also I think Euroleague in this moment has weaker teams than back then. No Russian teams, Turkish teams in this moment doesn't look strong as they used to, especially Efes. Also Ataman made that championship team in one summer. Completely new team. And I do think that team didn't have some special signings except Larkin. Micic was backup in the Zalgiris. Beaubois solid in Baskonia, Simon nothing but starter in that crazy Milano team. Motum was average in the Zalgiris, Moerman horrible in the Barcelona...and it turned out great. Panathinaikos is still waiting 3, 4 main transfers. In this moment we only have at PG and C starters in the team. And when you look at the names you have Sloukas who is top 5 at his position, Lessort ALL Euroleague team, Grant Eurocup MVP, Vildoza who can be the best or the worst and pretty solid Greek core, maybe the best in last 10 years. I am not saying we will be champions, not at all, but I do actually think everything except top 5, 6 at least is huge failure. Also keep in mind OAKA will be full almost every game. I would not be satisfied with just the playoffs. If we get home court adventage and lose against better team in that moment (17. Fener, 18. Real) I am fine. But to fight for the playoffs and then be destroyed against 1st or 2nd seed shouldn't be ok to anyone.

Calathes is too expensive. Madar move makes sense if we can get rid of Calathes and get another first PG, and Madar is his backup.

I hear the names of Raul Neto and Pangos. I don't know how Neto is currently, and Pangos is also a question mark with injury.

Regardless of the PG situation, I have the feeling that we might regret letting C. Edwards walk... We have Wilbekin and Dorsey but Edwards still has a lot of upside.
