Oly will be up there again this year. Transfers in and out so far are balanced, and they're still a top 4 team. Adding Mirotic will make them number 1 favorite, imho. it's just nonsense to claim they lost their attraction.

The only local player he had trusted was Sanli. All others had a hard time with him both on and off the court. I put most of the blame on him, but not all. He has high expectations and little patience. Most players cannot flourish under that pressure. Onuralp Bitim almost quit bball, Saybir looked dead, and both of them immediately shined once out (you can add Musa and Petrusev to the list). Previously decent players (Gecim, Arna, Guven, etc etc) disappeared. Maybe he will have a different approach in Greece, or maybe his players will react better than Turkish. We will see.

Ataman being a vocal Galatasaray fan, he sounds like he missed coaching a team with passionate fans (Efes has lots of fans, but way too peaceful). This is going to be a great experiment to follow, whichever direction it goes .

It’s pretty intriguing to see how Ataman vs DPG will work out if results are not as good as expected.

Seeing the way DPG supported Radonjic, I believe he will not put pressure on Ataman, at least until February.

if bjelica also come, we could easily switch to eurocup..
well, covic again win, which means zvezda again lost..

During Ataman's career at Efes, he never had a strong core of Turkish players who could compete at the Euroleague level. I have never thought that this was a matter of trust or distrust in domestic players, and I believe people often criticize Ataman unnecessarily in this regard. Among the main Turkish players he coached during his time at Efes, such as Gecim, Sanli, Tuncer, Young Bitim and Young Saybir, Guven, and Gazi, Sanli was the only player who could contribute effectively in the Euroleague and Ataman already knew how to get the maximum performance from him. In the last 3-4 seasons, there hasn't been a Turkish player market capable of playing at the Euroleague level. Now we have a couple of players like Kabaca or Bitim who can contribute at this level, but Ataman never had the chance to play with players of this profile.

The Greek Euroleague player pool is much wider, and the players in his roster are capable of making direct contributions. Players like Sloukas, Mitoglou, Papagiannis or Papapetrou are proven players and it is fact that they are not included in the team solely because they are Greek. The belief that Ataman has an aversion to domestic players is completely false. Ataman can not tolerate weakness or lack of enthusiasm in players. Some players, especially Turkish ones, want their egos to be stroked and expect the coach to be more instructive or paternal, but Ataman is definitely not that type of person. It can be debated whether this is the right approach, but this approach has never changed in him, and he has achieved many things with this character.
Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability. Perception, intelligence and morality assist it as well. The strong with less intelligence and comprehension can not cope with the less strong but with sufficient intelligence and comprehension. I like the sportsman who is intelligent, agile as well as morally upright.

Abolute true. In addition to that he gave every player a chance (more or less). Gecim for example had many opportunities to prove himself but he couldnt contribute but playing in a well functioning elite team it isnt that easy anyway. The only thing Efes and Ataman could be blamed is the lack of information about Turkish players.

Also the fact that they didn't let Micic play to game of Serbia against Turkey

Milos Teodosic is Officially signing a 1+1 contract with Crvena. The 36 year old veteran will be the replacement of Vildoza and probably Campazzo aswell.
replacing facu and vildoza with 37 years old teo.. seems legit
i mean, 600k for him isnt much, but if its known, 2nd pg wont be better then teo, then this is ridiculous

ponitka also close to zvezda, another scrap from pao..

I think that Ponitka pays for the terrible year that Pao had. I wouldn't consider him "scrap". He's a good addition.

                          • By all accounts, PAO played worse that expected, however almost all of our players, except (maybe) for Papagiannis and Lee, are considered "scraps".
I agree that Ponitka is a good player, he can post at a good level and he is also a good passer.
