I mean, although Bob brings it up with any chance he is not wrong. Also, he always drives home the same point (which is correct). Even if we assume that a Calathes-lead team does ok in the RS, when playoffs come the opposing team can 100% focus and adapt on playing under all screens and that’s the end of it. Our 1 (one) playoff win in the past billion years is a testament to that.

Unless there is a magical way to only play transition ball, I am done with Calathes. I wish him all the best but I’m tired of seeing the same story unfold every time. I want something different.

Before calathes, barcelona didnt even reach f4,with calathes they reached one final and 1 semifinal. So now that the reason barcelona failed is gone, barcelona will win the euroleague. Otherwise saras is a clown coach having by far the highest budget in euroleague.

And the reason for that is not calathes or any other player. The reason is that they think this is still 2010 and a slow pace basketball mentality will get you trophies. Well this is 2022 and they both suck as coaches not adapting to modern basketball

I totally agree about Saras and I have said many times before, he's a big failure to me.

I don't judge Calathes based on his Barca episode. 4 years in Pao was more than enough for me to make some conclusions. Episode in Barca only showed that no matter how good are players he has around him, his main problem stays the same, being unplayable in half court offense, when it really matters.

Saras wanting him out although he still has contract tells us, that his opinion is very similar to opinion of "nobody" in internet forum.

I dont see Barca defeating Efes with Larkin, Micic and Clyburn. Most of the guys talk about Mirotic or Larkin but the best player in the Euroleague is Clyburn. Having two guards and Clyburn is hardly beatable. I dont like the Zizic move but the center position is not very important, at least he is able to grab some rebounds and is a tough fellow.

Vesely is an injury prone and tends to flip out in important games. Sato is an upgrade to Calathes a massive upgrade but he can only deliver 40% what Micic can do on offense and Mirotic cant defend at all. Considering how new this team will be and the final four will be taken place in Istanbul Efes has the upper hand.

saras saw (im sure he is not an idiot,he was a genius as a player,thats why i have his name as nickname,i even liked him more than diamantidis and he is my favorite player in the 2000-2020 panathinaikos along bodiroga) that the never ending slow pace game focused on postup playstyle with mirotic doesnt work. he even lost to the oldest team in europe in a series in the spanish finals (ok in one game semifinal you might lose,but losing to these grandpas in the finals without laso,without randolph is just ridiculous).

and he decides what? bring kalinic,satoransky and vesely to make his pace even slower focused more defensively. im risking to predict barcelona wont even make it to the f4 this season

CSKA lost the VTB finals despite having Clyburn in the team. Although he did have some injury problems last season.

If Vasilije Micić changed his name to Will Clyburn, then yes, I agree that Will Clyburn is the best Euroleague player.
