Okay I am not going to argue. But he is a role player, always has been. Used to be a very good one. But he never carried a team and will not certainly start doing so, especially at this age.

Main player in the 2 times EL champion was always role player? Ok I quit , you are right no space for arguing, we are miles away. Keep Larkin, let us to take care of De Colo

Regarding that Itoudis will bring Milutinov maybe you should create synergy for Efes

I don't agree he was the main player, neither in 2016 or 2019. For me Teo and Clyburn were the main players. And there's nothing wrong with being a role player. Like I said sometime ago, De Colo is not a leader in nature. I agree that from that perspective he is very different from Larkin, who is a main player. I also wish to keep Larkin but NBA is NBA, who can compete? But if by some miracle we manage to keep both Larkin and Micic (who was "definetely" going to NBA last year according to some forum members, including me), with Clyburn it will be the best trio in EL history by far. But even if it doesn't happen I am still optimistic because even tough I think Ataman is clueless most of the time, there's one thing in which he excels, getting 110% from his star players so I am sure we will see a much dominant Clyburn if he actually signs with Efes.

You know if you followed that time some discutions betwen me and Bob , 2019 was me who was first to claim that Efes is the most talented team. That was blasphemy in that moment beside 3 or 4 much stronger rosters. So I am perfectly aware of job Ataman did that season with one of the best market moves ever made.

But he is not guy that made the most powerfull roster in the history. That guy is Itoudis

From 2016 until 2019, and gues who was the only player who was the main puzzle of that team ? De Colo of course. Not Teo, not Clyburn

The peak was at 2019 , Chacho, De Colo, Higgins, Clyburn, 4 top EL players in the roster. The only team I could remember with such number of top players was Pao from 2009 with Spa, Diamantidis, Pekovic and Saras. But Spa wasn't star yet, which was one of the reasons to leave

That will never happen again, even if Efes brings Clyburn.

Both Pao and CSKA could easily win two or three titles in a row if they kept that rosters. But, they didn't. Efes kept roster one time but to repeat that again is almost impossible, NBA is knocking on the door and uncle Sam always gets what he wants

For some reason De Colo has been underrated on Interbasket. Could never consider him a role player. The success of the Teodosic - De Colo partnership was how well two elite guards not only co-existed but excelled together.

Larkin going to the Wizards would be a huge loss for Efes and the Eurolague although the bonus would be him proving Bob wrong.

Janketa, I'm curious about your interest in Fener signing Lundberg. Were you very impressed by his spell in CSKA or is it more the lack of alternatives ? He also seems more focused on the NBA.

It's obvious 2nd reason like you said, lack of the good players on the market. I watched him, not a top player but he has all what is needed for that position.

Regarding De Colo, of course he is underrated on this forum, I don't know reason for that.

My advice for 1st five would be Calathes-De Colo-Bacon-Thompkins-Milutinov
So we are now 2 rumors away from my prediction

There are rumors about Calathes, Mickey(instead of Thompkins), Naz Mitrou-Long( I would rather go for Wolters) and Milutinov. We are waiting for SF and what will be with De Colo.

There is a very good reason for that and now I am going to explain why by looking at some facts about De Colo, so you are all welcome
First, physical: At around 6'5 I'd say he has a very good height for his position, that's an advantage. Is he strong (like muscular or space-filling)? Not really. Is he athletic? Not really. Does he have the speed? Not really. So only advantage he has is his good height for his position.
Game play: As a SG, he has a very good shot, I'd say he is elite in that regard. He is an above average ball handler but definetly not elite in that respect. He is not very creative with the ball (like a regular PG), he can create his own position but for the rest of the team, not so much. He is not your go-to guy (let's say in the last minutes of a very defensive game you can't create as a team so one of the guys should play iso, you have De Colo, Larkin, Bodiroga and Kutluay (you'll see why I choose those 2), who do you choose?), his drives to basket are not killer (although ok) because of his lack of speed and athleticism. He has a good understanding of the game. On the defensive side, he is not the best option. So in the end we have a SG with killer shot and good ball handling who is not very creative, explosive or defensive. I think for him to become an elite player, he must at least add 2 more things to his game.
So, he is basically a version of Kutluay with a little better ball handling. And in CSKA, just like 2002 Panathinaikos, he was like Kutluay, the role player, not Bodiroga, the main star. So I don't understand why everyone is treating him as if he was Bodiroga!!! This is insane.

                          Here we go...

After winning the second EuroLeague title in a row, Turkish powerhouse Anadolu Efes are already planning a big transfer market campaign for this summer. The team coached by Ergin Ataman has already reached agreements with Will Clyburn and Ante Zizic, while also strongly considering Josh Nebo.

Huge news for #AnadoluEfes:* Shane Larkin is close to agreeing a new 2yr deal w/ Efes.* The EL champs show a strong interest in signing Dwayne Bacon.* Efes will pay a buy-out to CSKA for Clyburn.* Zizic & Nebo are also expected to sign a contract.

What buyout if he is a FA? Is this reliable source?
