I don't think we ever were. Maybe if Pitino had stayed.

ahem, weren't Fener fans saying here that Koc spent 50m out of his pocket in a year? Why would a president pay that massive amount from his pocket? this automatically makes the owner/president separation shady. and the taxes,, ahem.. the taxes that state peridoically "forgives". our system is probably the most corrupt in Europe, just no one tries to reveal it.

          • De Colo is a huge transfer, by the way. More impressive than that of Mirotic, imho.

and a depressing news for many Efes fans: Tibor Pleiss stays for one more year.

It was neither for basketball branch nor a "revenue"... It's basically a loan to be repaid back. Are you really suggesting there's not a huge difference between an owner and a president? By the way I agree Turkish tax system is a joke, especially indirect taxes against regular people and tax amnesties for big companies, but we digress.

              • Madrid made a proposal to De Colo, but a little below that of Fener, what made the real difference is the call of coach Obradovic. He knew how to be persuasive ...
Singleton is one of the new target for Fener

De Colo had been playing in Europe for the last 5 years. He just changed the team - it's basically nothing new here. Also he's 32 y.o. guard. He will decline inevitably.

Mirotic vice versa had been playing in NBA for the last 5 years and he did it well. He averaged from 10 pts to almost 17 pts in the season. Also he's only 28 y.o. and still could play well and a lot in NBA. This signing is much more extiting.

                    What made you believe that?
IMHO, Mirotic is an NBA caliber player in a very good age. It was a huge surprise for anyone that he returned to Europe so early.

                      • Mirotic played very well in the NBA especially his playoff run with the Pelicans 2 years ago. He rebounded very well and shot the long ball extremely well. But he also benefited from playing with Anthony Davis and Giannis. That led to a lot of open looks that as a focal point of defenses in the Euroleague might not be there.

He is just a shooting Big nothing more and his impact on the game is fairly restricted even if he shoots 50%

That 50m was just one-off not in a yearly basis.

                              • I read from some sources that Fener wants Singleton. Very very bad move if its true. He was horrible in Barca in the first half especially
