Actually I think Barcelona has chances for winning EL. I mean players like Higgins, Singleton, Tomic, Mirotic, Hanga... Not much coaching to do. Even Messina can win EL with a roster like that. Opps, he already did that in Virtus.

Do you remember the previous year's PO with Pelicans?? Miro is a fantastic shooter and scorer, one of the best for his height. Don't be confused with what he used to be before leaving to USA. For example Bojan Bogdanovic used to be mediocre in Fener, since he went to NBA he became sth else absolutely, you see him now with Croatia in Fiba Competitions and it's obvious that his offensive talent is very advanced compared to Euroleague players, if he played in Europe he would be exceptional and a hell for defenders but that doesn't mean he will win Euroleague like walking in the park.

btw we hear the same thing every year about maccabi,armani,khimki and other teams,but unlucky all these teams fail each and every year. and they will fail once again no matter how big their budget will be. i said last season they would be out of playoffs and panathinaikos will be in,and some people flamed me saying im fanatic cause i support panathinaikos. once again i will say the same thing. panathinaikos will be 6-8th and armani,maccabi,khimki,bayern and all these 20m budget teams will be below and out of playoffs

If Maccabi signs Caspi and a top PG as it's rumored then they will become very strong, it's really too early for predictions.

My 2 cents on the Mirotic deal: I welcome every case in which a Euroleague team is able to bring over NBA level talent, especially when the player himself was wanted by quite a few NBA teams. BUT... my problem is that this deal has no connection to basketball. This entire super hyper ultra Barca team is just some pawn in the FOOTBALL rivalry between Barca and Real and has no viability and no long term vision in terms of basketball. Just some way to please and appease the Barca football fans. It's here today and it will go away tomorrow when football interests change. Of course big football brands like Real, Barca, Bayern may attract interest of the general population in basketball and the euroleague and that's a good thing, but I don't like this feeling that the sports event I enjoy the most is now just another toy of the rich football dudes...

This is big bullshit since the 2 fooball teams are being competitive in spain for the last 60 years (madrid) and 40 years (barcelona) and the rest of the spanish team are at max 20 years competitive

I agree with Kwijibo. Real Madrid was a powerhouse in the 60's fighting against the soviet teams (CSKA,Riga) in the European Cup. Barcelona became a powerhouse in the 80's with plenty of finals and great performances in the European Cup. We are no new riches such as ManCity or PSG in football.
