There were some interesting inside info from Milan's last season from few players, i.e. they even started not to go to games review sessions, where their mistakes were spotted, simply cause they didn't like it. What Pianigiani did? He removed that from schedule... I can't imagine Itoudis doing so. I believe James will be better in CSKA than in was in Milan
Was it solely down to a lack of authority or did the players not respect his coaching methods or game strategies? They did win Serie A in his first season.

Milano winning Serie A with that roster isn't much of an indicator though, is it?

I mean, when he had a colossal fuck up of a season here in Fener, people blamed the toxic atmosphere in Fener back then. While that was true to some extent, to me Pianigiani had seemed like a coach who isn't willing to leave his comfort zone in terms of basketball style and gives way too much leeway to his players. This isn't a problem in a team like Siena where pressure is minimal, but it's a recipe for disaster in more difficult environments like Milano or Fener, where players try to whip the coach to their will. Last season might have been his final chance to prove he can work with stars, or worse, players who think they are stars but aren't.

Don't worry about that maccabeo, it's 100% sure I believe that Caspi will play 4 in Europe, for me you better pray he'll come because MTA's roster, even after this crazy summer regarding Euroleague's transactions, will be CRAZY! Even if it's not your absolute taste, the frontcourt of Black, Hunter, Caspi, Acy, Colloiaro, Cohen will be killing in D and have also great versatility in O as well, really love it!!!

                • I mean Colloiaro and Caspi maybe will play some 3 in some cases but pretty limited for sure, they are both very tall to play 3 in Europe and Sfairo knows it, all Euro teams play with undersized SFs.

No, it doesn't mean that he did a brilliant job there, it just shows that he hasn't lost the locker room in the first season.

I don't know if this roster can be defined as a crazy one but we know for sure that perhaps for the first time it has been built following almost exclusively the coach's indications.

They kept the players he likes (Black, Calojaro ecc.), they got rid of Johnny Bryant, Pargo and Roll (who saw his minutes diminish dramatically with sferopoulos), they signed Hunter who played his best basket with him in Greece and so on.

The only exception is perhaps Deandre Kane, the coach would have kept him because of his defence and team spirit but he was released I believe for some disciplinary problems.

So the coach has now the 100% responsibility of reaching at least the final 8, otherwise he will have to search for another team next year.

Not a worse move than Ron Baker.Even though Igokea signing Rashad Vaughn beats both.

                            • We wanted "Jovic like" player, we got it...just the colour is different
Joke aside...this is really enigma signing for us...we can win big way, but we can also collapse in a style...it will be really interesting season...
New forecasts are saying that we might expect Kuzmic in November...sounds like sf after all...but seems like he is recovering rapidlly...

At his best he has been a rotation player in a F4 underdog team that was 99% led by Bourousis and had Adams, Causeur, Hanga, Shengelia and others in more important roles.

At his second best he was a 2nd or 3rd option in a team getting swept in the playoffs.

At his worst, he was a point guard with terrible decision-making leading a team to the 12th place despite his salary and the team's budget.

There is not an underestimation of James, there is a severe overestimation of him. Can he be somewhat productive for Cska? Sure. But there has never ever been an instance where he's been the lifesaver of a team over a season. And if they expect him to be, reaching playoffs might be hard.
