Lithuania is far from the top for years now and probably will never be back to its historical third places (2003 was some random thing), Turkey can lead with clubs where foreigners are allowed. Since only one naturalized player is allowed and since Yugoslav wars are over for years, Turkey will lose as always in the 1st round of the knock-out phase.
    .
    Indeed.

But I was cheering for LTU: it is really unbearable to see some random black American getting Spanish citizenship just because he worked with Scariolo in Toronto.

Turkey dropped 3 places, could be even more tbh.. This is direct consequence of not involving Larkin in leading role, awful defense without clear roles, bad ball movement in offense and giving too much space to zero-defense players like Melih and Tuncer.

Germany could be even higher imo.
Greece seems to me stronger and more complete than Slovenia, in fact any other result below the final would be a failure for Greece considering the enormous amount of absences involving most of the opponents.

I think that Lithuania is still far from its optimal form, the team does not have chemistry yet, there is no stable sniper shooting yet, not to mention that Sabonis hits every second penalty. And coach Moskvytis, a great coach, has not yet revealed his potential.

Although I will admit that this is a really potentially stronger team than the one that lost to Slovenia at home in the selection.

I seriously believe that Italy with Banchero would be a force. I would love to see him already. Mannion looks great so far, so Galo, Banchero, Mannion already would be nice individual talent + solid guys as Fontecchio, Polonara.

Banchero already would be a force in EB, IMO, or at least very very valuable role player.

Italy shouldn't be overlooked. They are dangerous, no wonder played equally with Serbia.

I wouldnt be so sure they are wrong. I see us like failure in quarter-finals or 4th placed, so there is place for some teams from secondary plain like Lithuania, Turkey, or who knows Germany or Italy. Probably Slovenia will win one of medal, probably Greece too, and for one more medal France and Serbia are not particulary convincing. Nobody thought Serbia will be broken by Italy in Belgrade, and it happened. Lithuania has relatively good players, maybe even better then 2015, but like team is not yet suited to be better than simply own average.

4 or 5 consecutive failures make you lose confidence on any level- We made two consecutive failures, we are close to not going on WC2023, I think we will not win medal on next Eurobasket. We 'll maybe would have four consecutive failures, so we 'll be in similar situation like you now, but you now look on us with cautions and over-estimations. Its not something realistic, its thing of perception.

I remember on last WC 2019 on IBN Predictions I was only who predicted win of Argentina against us. When you are closer you see more lacks, when you are far away doesnt mean there are no lacks, but lacks are less visible.

3 of the best 4 teams in group B and the 4 best is host Germany. It's rarely to see so unbalanced group stage.

This is the first real opportunity for Micić to prove himself in NT. Part of the reason why Pešić cut Teo is to allow Micić all the space and freedom to feel comfortable and as one of leaders of this team. History doesn't tell much about Micić's abilities in NT. In 2017. he was nowhere near the level he is at right now, in 2019. entire team was off and he was coping with personal issues, while during OQT in Belgrade he came injured and didn't even play second half against Italy due to injury. This is where we can see what Micić can do in NT.

What I would like to see against Slovenia is a blueprint of new identity built around Jokić's skill set. Everything what Pešić has done so far points to that direction. He is trying to simplify the game, it's Jokić and Micić, and a handful of 3&D kind of players like Lučić, Dobrić, Marinković, Kalinić, Jaramaz. All of them can thrive in off ball movement around Jokić. Then, there will be a little bit of scoring punch from Nedović (can thrive around Jokić with his speed in cutting to the basket) and Gudurić, rounding out with an elite rebounder like Milutinov (Jokić and Milutinov can work together and be very good in few minutes stretches). So, there is enough material to work with, and I think Pešić will define the role of each player. His biggest trait as a coach is setting up strong hierarchy with defined roles for each player. That's why he is not shying away from making bold moves no matter if everybody else disagrees.

Until we play games vs Greece and Turkey, I expect from Jokić to be exactly who he is with the Nuggets during preseason and in the begining of the season. That means he won't be looking a lot for his shot, but rather try to inegrate teammates and get them familiar with his skill set and style of basketball. It would be much more beneficial for this team in the long run that he starts kind of slow trying to get everyone on the same page, rather than just scoring 30 while everybody else is just standing and warching him.

We can play small and big lineups, and I'm particularily interested to see if Pešić can field a lineup of Micić-Dobrić-Lučić-Kalinić-Jokić. This should be the perfect five for what Pešić is trying to accomplish here. Jokić/Micić, and bunch of defenders, spot up shooters, high energy players who can play off ball and switch everything 1-4. Kind of small ball lineup but not really, because all players are big, physical and love contact basketball. This lineup can respond to all demands in both offense and defense. This is just my wishful thinking, Pešić will probably play Nedović or Gudurić, and get Dobrić off the bench.

Poor Micic, nobody wants him, only Ataman

Even in Serbian NT didn't get the real opportunity until now. Kokoskov even benched him the whole 2nd half against Italy

Sure, I would gladly take Ulanovas. More playing time available for him than for Micic.
