When Pau and JCN retires from the NT, the figure of the coach will be the most important ever in the team since 10 years ago.
Now the federation only has to sign a medium tier coasch, let Pau and JCN do his magic, and rooll over.
WHen they is not there, it will need a true, excellent coach to make this NT with stars of Marc Gasol, Ibaka and Rudy F. reach for medals.

On one hand, I'm very sad that this situation is gonna end is near, and Turkey, Serbia, France and other teams are gonna take over Spain in the coming years.
On the other hand, it will be exciting to this spanish team ends up with a possible starting five of: Marc-Ibaka-Emeterio-Rudy-Ricky
Still a good team, but no Pau

Navarro will be bigger loss than Pau.

Well seeing as how we barely won against Finland and lost to FYRM (LOL) I would say Slovenia is that bad. Anyway expected loss, well we still managed to score 60 points wich is a small miracle in its self, God we suck sooo bad on offense its not even funny any more.

Spain is definitely beatable but just because Scariolo is a tard and their PG spot is very very weak. I would bet against them for the gold.

macedonia and finland is just proof how much 90% europian "stars" are hevily overreated these days and how much euro players level is decrising last few years

one lee, hoff or kotti play somwhere with santa, whille onan, arslan, slokar, zoric and co. are playing in so called "big teams". but non of them is much better then santa teamates

not to metnion one antic who toys with euroleague "stars" like tomic and bourusis

few years back conan's brother jagodnik was average player in nlb, last year he was star in euroleague. maybe i'm wrong, but i didn't see much impruvment in his game. it must be competititon then

with few exceptions like gasol, dirk, parker and some others, most euro players last few years should work only for some brick company or like some lumberjacks

if spain wants to win, they will definitely win. I dont think they can be beaten. We're talking about a team which doesnt use (and need) Ibaka. I dont see any other player in any other NT who are better than Ibaka. (Noah and Ömer maybe but hes much more better offensive player. Krstic cannot defence like him)
Moreover I dont see any team which can stop Rudy,Navarro,Gasols at the same time. With a better coach, they will be a good opponent to USA for gold medal at London imo. If they will be defeated in EB11, they will lose by themselves.

Ibaka doesn´t feel confident in Fiba. I mean, he´s a great player but we didn´t put too much to integrate him in the matches we played before the Euro.

With zones he has loads of problems and also think that he´s playing with guys who are playing together for years and it´s not easy to arrive and take off in these conditions.

Give him time, he´s only 21.

God what a game, i thought Slovenia was going to pull an upset, but eversince their big men started amassing cheap fouls i knew it's all over for them. At the end of the day it's spain.
This game reminds me of the Spain-Lebanon match at the world cup, lebanon was leading throughout most of the 1st half untill the spaniards woke up and gave us a good ass whoopin, you just gotta play your best for 40 mins if you intend on beating this team, bcs they can kill you at the slightest mistake (the 36 points in the 2nd quarter says it all)

Still, first game I'm not mad at our guys, I know they did their best and tried hard. Spain was just that much better.
At least they've tried within their limits, which are quite limited by some random basketball zombie as a HC. The only criticism I have is that hopefully the message will reach them and they'll stop reading god damn internet forums when at such tournaments... idiots obviously noone is taking care of basic psychology aspect with younger sections... must be for the better, we'd be too good in sports if that would happen anyway.

Now... after again listening to two hours of situation within our basketball federation, U20 coach (that was tough) and petty games of mutual backstabing of our coaches and officials... I only hope they'll manage to stand together this time and "free Maljković".
He said this team has no talent for big things (i'm sure by his opinion Russia does, though - no diss Russians), so we would have to free him from our incompetence, to find a person that won't be searching for such a petty excuses in advance.

I don't know Zdovc in person... but next time I ran across with him on the street I'll go on my knees and beg him to come back...
Hell... same with Mahorič... you're not interested in a full list... Memi Bečirović is on it as well...

yeah,i remmember it well,he had one foul, but then he decided to be super man, he did a CLEAN foul on Gasol, ref counted as a foul, vroman frustrated let out his anger got a technical foul and it was all downhill from there(stupid coach decided to take out Vroman,thinking we could hold spain's centers off with our rookies)
anyways,even without that incident i dont think we could've kept up the good performance and i'm sure you were bound to stop vroman at one time or another
