[Day 5] Game A/14: Turkey - Spain

My first post if this forum, though I've been following you since some years ago.

Firstly, congrats to Turkey. They got a very important win for the second stage. Hope you advance to the knockout round and meet Spain there. I am sure it will be a much brilliant, and different, match.

This match was awful and boring to watch for me: both teams played bad and Spain was a total mess, specially in the last quarter.

As it is said, Spain cannot play a better game than the one against Lithuania, but also Spain cannot play a worse game than the one against Turkey.

1. Lithuania can't play the defence Turkey plays.

2. Turkey didn't show any good game in offence.

It worked just fine! Not a pretty game but a great victory nevertheless. As for the last quarter, it seems that someone reduced the basket the Spaniards were attacking to the size of a thimble and the other one to the size of a Turkish coffee cup.

The problem with Turkish fans is just the same as with Lithuanians - they bash and whine about their team one morning, and few hours later, after a win, they praise and claim how they are close to second coming..

Fortunately we Greek fans have no such problem. We bash our team morning, noon, and night no matter what the result!

This will be our best or worst game in this tournament. I don't expect any close to middle.. Maybe we will win or we will lost with +20...

But with GB-poland morale i can add %10 to win. Although this my opinion %40-%60 Spain...

We need to use our inside players and we mustn't use more than 10 3pts attempts if we aren't in our best percentage night...

Not our best game but our best defence in last quarter...And first time come from back in a game for this tournament. so, this will be good for next matches,especially serbia game.

Our final position will be decided at tomorrow. if we win, our team will earn self-confidence again like WC.

I haven't watch any France game yet but i think their first lost will be against us. if we lost, we need to wait Spain's games..

Very important win for Turkey. Going to the second group with one win will help Turkey to advance to Qfinals.

On the other hand, let's be honest that Spain played far from their 100% performance today.
They were clearly not motivated for the game, mostly as they were expecting Poland to win.
Pau Gasol was not there and with him the result could have been very different.

My Turkish friends, let's celebrate this win but don't exaggerate by claiming we can now win the tournament. Spain still looks like a better team.

This is probably the one post to take and answer for the rest of the bull posted on here, Turk or anti Turk.

Gee, tnx for letting me know it was a good win and important win at that, never would have figure it out on my own.

BUT Ye let's be honest,we beat them cause we were better than them on the day...it usually happens every competitive match in any sports, any more surprises?

Pau wasn't playing? I wouldn't have noticed...till you pointed it out. Shi t happens, we won despite or because of that. just because he didn't play we shouldn't have turned out? some sort of noble protest we should have put up? Pau is not here! we are not playing..it wouldn't be fair?

You muppet, if you bother reading through the comments here no Turkish fan is declaring we are better than Spain or anyone, read my posts for a start, and that we will win the tourney. We are excited we won on such an improbable day, where we were OUT of the tournament at the begining of the day.
We are still in the competition with equal chance of advancing, we appreciate that and hence the excitement. Don't need your thick patronising comments to tell us to calm down.

Man o man, the IQ level in this forum is so low...not because i think i'm so clever, honestly not. But it's painful reading through a lot of these posts..

Guys can you not think through and post some things we can get our teeth into? To be fair a lot of good knowledgable posters here being diluted by a lot of nincampoops.
So please don't be offended if you are offended, i probably don't mean you. I'll take the chance of being banned again to make this observation.
