this is the game to see where Greek NT team stands.
Since there is not any more the rivalry Oly - pao to divide the team i think that the loss from FYROM will boost the ''filotimo'' pride of the Greek NT and win easily.
but we will see
it should be a nice matchup for the montenegrins..
inside they have enough muscle and power to "fight" against greek bigs while on the perimeter greeks look extremely vulnerable..
two games lost by Montenegro so far were lost with big 3pt night of the opponent and Greek is one of four worst 3pt shooting teams on this championship...
seriously, I was trying to find out if they are the worst and on the championship 3pt stats there is only 20 teams listed and greece is not even there..
it should be a low scoring affair and Montenegrins will surely like their chances in that kind of game..
also, it will be fun to see how will Greece react after the loss to Macedonia..
This group is crazy, but if Greece wins tonight then it s almost certain that they qualify to the next round. On the other hand if Greece loses, then the chances are they will not qualify. So this game is a must win for Greece.
I hope that we will find the way to get over the lost to FYROM and to, easily or with difficulty, win Montenegro.
Our defense must be solid all over the game and we should start be sucessful in 3points.
Fortunately for us, Montenegro bigs are not as efficient from the 3point line as FYROM's ones, which was a factor that caused us big problems in the previous game.
Morever, our rookies should help a lot at this point. This is the very moment to do so, otherwise we might not even get to the next stage of the eurobasket.
Double edged knife for the Greeks. If they are psychologically recovered after yesterday´s game, they will get it but they might not. 50 - 50 chances. By the way, both teams MUST win.
Unless I see a convincing +15 victory (the least), I would rather NOT see us in next stage.
To clear it a bit, I am not saying that we are going to win +15 points, and I am also saying (and it hurts to do so) that we might as well lose.
But since it is painfully obvious this team this coach and some of the players are not ANYWHERE near our best ones, I admit that I would rather see them go than be put to the same torture every time they play...
If Gecefski, Antic managed to play our frontline yesterday, then Pekovic today should steamroll over their carcasses...
I'm not optimistic. It's Montenegro's last chance to stay in the competition and I don't believe our guys have yet realised what competition they are playing in...
In today game Greece is favorite, but it's dificulte to say who will win.
Montenegro lost two matches with oponents high 3pt percentage.
If Dasic play as good as he knows then Montenegro will win for sure.
In my opinion Grece would be one of the best teams with Diamantidis, Sofo and Papalukas, but without them we can beat them if we play on high level.
I'll cheer for Greece. They really have a better coach, more talent and are tactically more versatile than Montenegrins. But... would it really be the main factor today? Coming out of the game where Macedonians outmuscled and had a bettter determination I am a bit afraid that this young greek team may have problems again. Of course Cook is not on the same level as McCalebb, but I think he is a bit better than Zisis, as well as Pekovic is better than Bourousis. So Montenegrins have a slight advantage in two very important positions on the court. Fotsis is looking very good and the greek bench must perform tonight. This game is of huge importance for both teams.
Although this Greek team does not have the same potential as usual, there are many Greek players who are under performing and need to step up a bit. I'm thinking about players like Vasileiadis who hasn't knocked in a three yet in the tournament. It's obvious this Greek team is trying to find some momentum and chemistry. At sometime, the shots are going to start falling in and they will become more dangerous. As far, it seems that they are somewhat predictable.
