[Day 3a] Game B/8: France - Germany

France, overall, have much more quality in their roster than Germany... I really doubted that Germany can win this one, despite Nowitzki's class and talent.
Now, Serbia will have much harder task than in previous rounds. I'd be satisfied with one win from following match-ups with France and Germany.

Originally posted by lebanese phoenix View Posthonestly i feel that Serbia would have a very hard time against france, and can have the upper hand when playing germany, serbia's style of play is deadly efficient against the germans who will suffer alot on fast breaks and will have a hard time playing against the fast serbian rythm, so i predict a win over germany and a close loss against syria
Serbia is loaded on guard positions and I think that we can play equal with France... I'm more worried about Germany, TBH.

That's all I meant regarding "bb knowledge"
Anyway, if you were quite surprised with the result, let me guess that you haven't watched many recent games of those 2 teams. Otherwise, it's very strange. For example,Germany almost lost to Italy the day before they confront France (which is clearly a better team than Italy).
(edit)
I noticed your avatar (belatedly) and now I can understand why you felt so surprised
Anyway, I've watched Germany and France against Israel. Against who Germany won easier than France did. But I don't like this kind of comparisons because different games has different stories.
My surprise comes because I think both squad are almost even in terms of quality imo. France is much more athletic and has an unstoppable scorer (Parker), Germany has some with soft touch behind the arc and Dirk and Kaman... Tomorrow Germany will Serbia and I hope they can grab the win!https://twitter.com/LuksKasabian

When Srdžan Dožai is in charge, noone should be surprised refereeing will pan out as arguableOriginally posted by Jon_KoncakThat's funny shit.I cant believe there are sports fans thinking like it.It's like Federer losing to random Japanese player in round 1 of French Open but tournament director stepping in and saying "hey it was a fluke win who wants to watch a random Japanese guy in next round,Federer qualifies"

You are in the wrong thread, it was against Italy, not Germany.
He received a "bequille" which would translate I think as a blow in the (left) thigh.
It's not a serious injury. Maybe he won't play today against Serbia (Gelabale is also an uncertainty for tonight), but he'll definitely be there for the end of the tournament.
It also confirms benching Parker against Italy was not a gutsy move, but a necessity.
No way a french coach has the balls to bench Parker and play Tchicamboud the whole last quarter in a tough international game.
