This one was usual home refereeing, nothing to write home about.
p.s. after that game Greeks has no moral right to speak about refering - what was happening in first 3 minutes of 4 quater was simply phatetic... People do you have any honour?

It was a bad game to watch (like the rest of them in this tournament). I think the refs were bad, but not only against Lithuania (I know, it feels that way when it's your team). OK, maybe there was a 52-48 for the Greek team, but in general the refs managed to piss both teams off, somehow.
About Greece, I am very, very troubled. If we count the Olympic qualifiers as a sample similar to Acropolis (not the same thing, I know), the difference is chaotic. Last year against Brazil, NZ, and Puerto Rico (not particularly worse than Russia, Lithuania, and Serbia) Greece was playing astronomical basketball, 10 times faster and more effective. This year, players give passes to ghosts and trip on their own shoes.
-The player in the best form, Sofo, managed to get injured
-There is no PG in the team, let's face it
-There is no SF in the team other than Perperoglou, let's face it
-Tsaldaris, Kaimakoglou, Papanikolaou, Kalambokis, under normal circumstances would not be part of the team
- Calathes and Koufos can't lead, it's obvious
- Spanoulis can't do anything else but try to score, it's obvious
- Bouroussis is still decent, but not as great offensively as last year.
I feel sorry for Kazla....It's like been taken to a fancy restaurant and then offered a Chinese take-out..."If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?"

Man some of you guys are just over the top. " the game was stolen" " this is comedy" lol. I knew this would happend so I thought lets visit the forum and see how many Liths will write this.
Who cares who won this game? Seriously, this was a friendly game.
Both teams are so bad they stank the place out!
Instead of commenting on the reffering try commenting of your Coach who is really sleeping at the bench.
I really cant tell which team is worse cause both teams stink!
This was turnover heaven tonight. It remindedme of kids playing, running up and down making wrong passes etc.
Now instead of worrying on what is going on with our teams (again i am talking about both teams) you choose to comment on the reffering.
This was not a Eurobasket final but a friendly that just proved that both teams are so unprepared that it hurts!

On the other hand, it's really good for some overly emotional Lithuanian players like the Brothers or Kleiza. They have to understand the importance of staying calm even in such tragicomical situations...
BTW, I feel bad for Butautas during last minutes of the game. Mažutis is destroying the offensive flow with his undecidedness, Jomantas is bad on the free throw line, and Kalnietis... well, the way he's playing recently I wouldn't trust him at all.
Originally posted by KWSN-Men View PostOk, the refs were quite bad when Lithuania took the lead, but in the rest of the game they were not so bad. But your players and coach were complaining from the start, in plays were the instant replay showed they were 100% wrong to complain...

But as it seems only Spain manages to play decent bb this year, so EC will be very unpredictable with such other team "play".

The game was pretty good, I don't know what people expected. 70 points is a normal result, the game wasn't boring as the rest of the tournament. Refs helped Greece when Liths were ahead 10 points (in very ugly style), but this is it more or less. Butautas didn't learn from the game with Latvija when kept Jomantas in the game for the last minutes.
In my mind comes one thing- Greece lost Pap and DD (still has two of their best guards), but Lithuania lost all 4 best guards Å aras, Å iÅ¡ka, Kaukėnas, Macijauskas. So Greek friends shouldn't complain how they are playing without PGIf only Liths had one of them, Greece would be in real trouble.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:
Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
Buzelis, Lelevicius
Murauskas, Sirvydis
Tubelis, Krivas

I will tell you what, by the end of the third quarter I was so pissed off I just didnt care about the game. Our guards (Lith /Greek) are just amazing...ly bad!
I thought Calathes and Spanoulis had double vision in times! They were seeing players everywhere and of course passing everywhere, all over the place.
3 point shooting...what is that? lol Is it eatable?
Pfh..and we comment of referrees..(*%^&% em! we have more serious problems to solve.
