Isa lang masasabi ko dyan bro: Bureau of Immigration is far from being a corruption-free agency of government

Most PBA teams have bottomless pockets.

I think Alvarado had a fake passport(gawang recto) which of course he will be charged with falsification of public documents,I don't know about Parker but I heard that the guy was legit Fil-Am,the only problem was the "domestic violence"(slight physical injuries)case against him if I'm not mistaken. Those were the times were internet and files weren't organized for authorities to verify. It would be very different now, even guys who are pretending to be doctors or lawyers right now can be easily detected by the authorities by a click of the mouse.

However FIBA really does not care, as long as the passport is endorsed by the federation (SBP), they will accept it in face value, sabi mo it is real. It is not for FIBA to check if the guy has Pinoy blood or what, it is your system and beucracy, if corrupt eh bahala kayo

              • Actually they may not do it with someone who really has no Pinoy blood, but they've actually already have done it in the past for people who technically legally don't have eligibility to secure a Philippine passport anymore, 3rd generation or even worst. (there really are players who really have very little to no Filipino lineage and legal basis under normal Philippine law who have secured Philippine passports previously (pls lets not discuss the past and what's happened in the past for simply supporting evidence for a forum)

I've read somewhere (5-6years ago) that Asi & Dorian Peña do not really hv an ounce of pinoy blood but was given the go-ahead nonetheless by DOJ & Immigrations while Devonn Harp was the legit one but lacked the sponsors to process his papers. Well hard to prove really

Because it brings up a key point on FIBAs position on it's eligiblity rules, FIBA cannot police and verify the different ways each nation jurisdiction grants passport, if a specific country has some weird system that anyone can get a passport instantly in 1 day, it has to accept face value the system (regardless if nuances are dodgy in nature).
And it is precisely the reason why FiBA decided on a universal rule (U16) and 1, NP" regardless of all the different citizenship rules of each country

                              Risky????

They will just take a picture of their passports in their private camera or cellphones. Of course they will do that privately in their house.

JC,Remy, and Roberts are claiming to loss their passports. And of course cannot remeber the passport number.
Atleast if they have a photo. They know their passport number. And can just simply go to dfa to retrieve it
