  • Same thing with TJ Warren, who’s the hottest player in the bubble right now not named Luka. Sabonis’ injury paved the way for him playing more 4, and they’re winning. Teams are pushing the small ball limit right now with the Rockets having Tucker and Covington as bigs.

Honestly, I don't think it matters if we qualify or not as we're likely gonna get swept by LeBron and the Lakers anyways.

And DeMar needs to hit those fucking open 3s for goodness sakes.
Yeah I know the Spurs are a long shot, (but are playing well), my point in bringing them up, is like the Spurs, Gilas does not have a choice (if so and so are the only available players, and Have to use JC as forward), you still have to go to your strengths, speed to get into lane with two athelic wings CJ and JC and maximise it
Add another wing with length so on defence we're not undersize, make sure he can shoot as well so not a liability like Gabe on offense

We sort of did it already in the last WC with the following line-up: Kiefer (6'0), Perez (6'2), Norwood (6'5), Japeth (6'9), and Andray (6'11)

The issue was inadequate preparations which the Philippine Bulok Association (PBA) is very good at.

This combination can work in the Asia-Oceania level at the very least:

        PG - 6'0-6'2
        SG - 6'2-6'5
        SF - 6'5-6'7 (probably a NP)
        PF - 6'7+
        C - 6'10+

This is pretty doable given the availability of talent we have now. The challenge is getting the right system and training schedule to properly execute it.

        • Agree on prep, it's not a matter of hugot a NP to play with Clarkson in last minute (if FIBA says yes to JC as a local which is a miracle long shot)

But the blue print in there, Kiefer, CJ, Thirdy, Dwight are all there to grow together, just put JC from 2022

Of course bigs, Troy, AJ and Kai

And just role with it and get better as a unit

This isn't fast food we're you just order in a player and get instantly results

Lol we've been saying this as far back as 2009. I'm at the point where I simply don't give a fuck at what the outcome is. I'm honestly more excited about our individual players' achievements like Kai getting drafted.

Btw I think we should refrain from calling Hachimura and Watanabe tweeners. They are not. They’re genuinely versatile players that could play multiple positions. Tweeners are players that are not ideal for any position like Troy and CBC who are undersized as a 4 but are not quick or skilled enough as a 3.
"With Clarkson settled at the two position, Guiao said he'll choose either Justine Brownlee or Chris McCullough from the pool of players being mentioned as possible naturalized players for Gilas in the future."

You only need to read one more paragraph to see he picked Brownlee over McCullough.

more preferred maybe, but he did mention both players.i think Brownlee is more of the SMC choice but Panlilio I think were in talks with McCullough as well although he signed for San Miguel beer.

                  • any chance we could steal Jalen Green from US in the senior team? Technically if he'll be released by U.S.A basketball, he could still play for other senior national team right? At 6'5 (some listed him 6'6,i think he's legit 6'5 barefoot as compared to Clarkson who is 6'3 barefoot) and his athleticism,he may be a better small forward than Clarkson who never played forward all his life.

why not get both if you can into the pool, JC already is naturalised with a passport, just give as many passports you can (within reasonable cost) to good prospects ,whoever is eligible to secure a passport

Correct. JC for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, & perhaps Jalen Green (JG) for the 2027 FIBA World Cup & beyond.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

automatic naman yan if JC already have a passport, but still hoping that Filipino foreign players will still be allowed to play as local.Who knows at the end it may even be Jalen Green (naturalized spot) and Jordan Clarkson.Mas maganda yan, i will assume both of them are active NBA players come 2023, of course, Kai as well. Having Remy,JC and Jalen in the playing together, wearing the Gilas uniform, in a FIBA Tournament is a dream.
