McGee's on his way. Will most likely suit up initially as an import for one of the MVP teams, considering the Wizards' postseason chances.
One interesting question I heard - would we really benefit most from a naturalized 7-footer? What if we get a 6'6"/6'7" swingman who can play 2 or 3 effectively and bank on the likes of Fajardo, Slaughter, Sanggalang, Taulava, etc. to man the paint? Just a thought, considering the "result" we had with Douthit...
I think having a seven footer is better than having a small forward in the team.Though we still need a good small forward in the team that can carry the offensive chores Just like Iran's Samad Nikkah Bahrami.A center could also handle the offensive chores..in addition he could also help out in getting rebounds and blocking shots.A small forward can only do much but once guarded by seven footers of other team,I doubt he'll get the job done. Not unless he's a 6'9 Lebron athletic kind of small forward.

I'd like the idea of Javale McGee, but if we can't get him what do the posters here think about Greg Stiemsma (7-1) currently of the Boston Celtics?
A late bloomer, he averaged only 3.3 points and 3 rebounds for the Wisconsin Badgers. Currently a 26 year old rookie and has served as an import in Korea, China and Turkey.
Was the NBA D-league Defensive Player of the Year for the Skyforce recently and now averaging 3.3 blocks a game with the Celtics this season. Long arms, jumping ability 70% ft shooting and worked hard to make himself a player since college.

not a bad idea..he'll be a lot cheaper than Mcghee but this guy.At 6'11 he's ok at the center position.

Is this the same Stiemsma that people here talked about before?

it never dawned on me that an nba player can play in a pro league other than the nba when under contract (regardless if his team is active or not)?
i remember this big guy. He got famous the same time as the 2-peat season of the florida gators(noah/horford/brewer).
i think he had problems with his legs/foot. He cant even finish a season.
And i remember he was schooled by then famous collegiate player - tyler Hansborough(spelling? lol).
He cant even dunk the ball well. he is also too slow.
Even Marko Mercetic is better than this guy.

Can you imagine if the Rockets draft this kid? He's gonna be train by Hakeem Olajuwon, Kevin Mchale, and possibly Yao Ming if he permanently lives in the US.

This is no FAIR. Look at the KID wearing Jersey number 5.
Kwame Brown if ladyluck agrees to be a naturalized candidate for the phils will be 30 yr old next year.
Lets suggest age bracket of 23-27 for longer term
Or maybe underappreciated or underutilized talents who showed big-time potential before they entered the NBA. Guys like this might be looking for a big opportunity to prove themselves and their detractors wrong. People who are looking for a "second lease on life". Two names come to mind, right away. They are not as tall as Kwame but just as big (and younger). And these two definitely have better low-post, inside games than Kwame - whenever given the opportunity. I'm talking about Sean May and Ike Diogu.
On the other hand, one thing we also seem to be lacking is a deadshot from the perimeter and a potent scorer in the 2 and 3 positions. Maybe someone like Adam Morrison (I'm saying "someone like" and not exclusively pertaining to Morrison), who's NBA career slowly fizzled out could be sought out. Maybe he'll regain his confidence and scoring form as a naturalized Filipino. Some players play better when utilized as primary offensive options rather than role players. There are a lot of guys who faltered in the NBA because they could not adjust to being role palyers. So I think that's another option we can look at.
