    • Justin Brownlee may get his wish to be a Filipino and possibly don the national colors in future international meets.

          • SMC players plus Brownlee can compete with the best out there.

            Fajardo, Slaughter
            Aguilar, Santos, Sangalang
            Brownlee, Ganuelas
            Lassiter, Lee, Thompson
            Cabagnot, Tenorio
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Yes, as long as the player is already a Filipino citizen by the time the son is born.

                • Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I thought Brownlee wanted to be a Filipino citizen, not necessarily to play for Gilas. I think Mr. Chua cleared that during his interview.

                  • What happened to Austin? He is our top prospect. Why is SBP hesitating? He is playing well in Euro league and China. He looks healthy.

                    • I don't think there is any prohibition for naturalizing multiple persons under one bill or law. So I think this is a good time to file another bill to naturalize another or other top naturalization prospect/s (i.e., Austin, Kouame, even Akhuetie). Then consolidate these bills para isahan na lang. Millions of pesos and a lot of time could be save if this is done.

                      • The only hitch I see with Brownlee is that he's already 30 years old. If only he is around 25, mas ok sana.

Remember that when Marcus Douthit was 34 or 35, Douthit was already washed-up. But of course its case to case basis naman.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

And this current administration truly supports Phi. basketball. We've seen that when SAP Bong Go convinced the SBP to send a basketball team to the Asian Games. We have Bong Go, DFA Sec. Allan Peter Cayetano, Senadors Sonny Angara & Manny Pacquiao & Cong. Robi Puno as vocal supporters of Phi. basketball.

Exactly, his naturalization may not actually be for Gilas purposes. Brownlee was so enamored with the country, the fans and the culture that he wants to be officially Filipino and not necessarily a Gilas.

Well, yaman rin lamang na gusto nyang magpa naturalized Filipino, then why not we make him one of Gilas naturalized player "options"?
