Someone in the mold of charles barkley, who we can use as PF/C, coz we need to give starter minutes to Greg Slaughter, a natural center. if there's no barkley around, maybe an islam abbas type would do. wag lang pabayaan sa kusina.
Kidding aside, with the heft of abbas, he was able box-out our big men, even hold his own against Marcus. I think our focus should be defense for this future import, a blue-collar worker- get the rebounds, challenge shots, hustle for loose balls. Well thats for me coz in the offense, i'd rather develop pinoys who would score. Problem with this current team is there's no go-to guy. Well we have one in casio but he's too little and he's playing injured. So its looking at a big picture really.

Maybe in 2015 Philippines will have a new naturalize player. Douthit is still serviceable until 2013 or 2014 if Philippines will qualify to the 2014 World Championship..

Really? I though he's only an inch shorter then Greg? But he's still in his teens though I think. Maybe he could still grow a couple of inches.

Maybe we can do it the Qatar way - go to Africa and start young - look for tall teenagers whom we can take to the Philippines to be groomed as future naturalized players. Much better if we can take guys as young as 13 or 14 so they can be naturalized before the age of 16... nang walang masabi si Manong Hagop (Trans: to keep Brother Hagop's mouth shut). IMHO Tapping Africans to play basketball in our country is a win-win solution because they get to study, live, and work here so that they may help their families in Africa (where oppprtunities are lacking) and we get the tall guys whom we can develop and coach ourselves... BTW I'm just hoping we won't produce another junmar Fajardo or Greg Slaughter...

Marcus will still be ok for us for 2 more Asian Championships. however, with his advancing age and probably his inavailability for future tournaments (if he's going to play somewhere after the Wuhan games), i agree that SBP should now start looking for prospects.

if ever they will begin the search for wordlwide manhunt, i hope that they can find another big guy around 6'11-7'3 with good post-up moves and a decent medium range jumpshot. in other words, a Douthit version 2.0 but with a younger, stronger and probably taller one.

with the PBA going to reinforce a unlimited height conference for imports this season, we may be able to see our next PHL naturalized prospect.

                    Marcus still OK until 2013.
With changes like addition of Slaughter, Ramos, Parks etc.. there is till good chances.

Most important changes must be to hire a new coach. TOROMAN style sucks big time on the recent WUHAN tournament.

Yup, MD still okay until 2013 but we need to have PBA players to help him, not again college players w/ raw experiences, lesson learned! And also hire just a Pinoy coach, Toroman's system wasn't that complicated for our coaches here!

One name comes out from me, a NBa player who si very athletic but not a star, not a franchise player, journey man and still young but has upsides. Kwane Brown. And he is still 27 year old.

douhit is perfect but he is not getting any younger, we need a back up naturalzie players

Hmmnn how about 25 yr old 6'10", 235 lbs. Sean Williams, a very athletic shot-blocking artist. He's the record holder in shotblocks at Chinese Basketball Association he made in 2010 for Fujian.
