If Isaiah does well this month, i'm thinking if it's realistic to process his naturalization in time for the Feb home and away when we play Australia? (5 months away, kaya ba?)

      • Here is a full game of Isaiah (Highlights can be deceiving) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1LNLNOoiF0
Observations- Like a young Japeth, while his length and athleticisim are obvious, he doesn't have good laterals and reflexes (his lack of visibility could be a reason) . (note this game is just around 2 months after being cleared to play , so may not be in basketball game shape), his interior post strength doesn't look good either, which is obvious with his slight frame- Strengths- outside shooting, his ball handling is one of the best i've seen for a 7 footer, (he can create his own shot) , rim protection

Overall being objecive I can really see why he's not receivng interest by NBA teams ( even for pre season tryouts) , but of course were not getting him to play for the NBA, but for FIBA and specifically Asia Pacific level. At that level I think his weaknesses ( which obviously can still be improved- like Japeth) is OK (passable) and can be overlooked for the other things he brings. One of the biggest plus is really his attitude and age (23) , based on that and of course the Asia champ games i would recommend him for naturalization

i think there's an adjournment of session in late october, then business will resume in november. after this short resumption, the long christmas break will start. then regular session will resume in late january or early feb.

so, normally, i don't think so, unless of course, this bill is given the utmost importance.

            • With the talks on Martial Law (God forbid), wonder how will this change the entire process.

Of course, the naturalization process will still be the same as martial law will not clip the law-making powers of congress. However, the political climate will certainly be different as many in metro manila will oppose it, and rightfully so. But this is a discussion for another forum.

                    • Isaiah has a lot to offer, I think he made at least 5 blocks with his game against Cignal. If he continues to work hard, get a positive attitude and work on his weaknesses, the sky is the limit for this boy.We have to limit a bit on our expectations, this guy would not give us 35 points or more just like that.He still needs to get familiarized with his teammates while adjusting to the coaching staff and the climate. He is basically a young pro with a short stint in Serbia and China he will definitely make rookie mistakes. He is only 23 turning 24 soon, in the next 4 years hopefully he'll be at the peak of his career. We have to be patient on this kid.

                      • When will we get our own version of Anthony Randolph? Not just his NBA-level skills but his ability to complement the local players.

I'm surprised we settled for someone who plays in China's Div 2 basketball, hindi man lang CBA. This, after naturalizing a high profile player in Blatche who has dominated China's Div 1 basketball.

I hope all the money and time going to be spent for naturalization will be worth it. We should have gotten him for many of the recent pocket tournaments to showcase him to both fans and congress. His credentials do not help.

I'm not familiar with the D- league, but some of those imports look decent, they must be paying these imports something for them to be there
