Well, there are thin or lanky players who are deceptively tough & physical. Mon Fernandez was thin and skinny yet he was not lacking in toughness & was a good defender at the post.
I hope Austin is like that.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV
Well being biased is when Austin really performs poorly and bases on the eye test he is not suitable to be a naturalize player yet some poster will still be defending him to be one is what BIASED is. Being skeptical for a fact that Austin has not even played for us yet is just being too paranoid I guess? The only clear thing that everyone knows is that:
Pros: physical tools, athleticism, outside shooting
Cons: Health
Can you look for another word in referring someone like maybe a poster is just OPTIMISTIC because if you look at in a vacuum Austin possesses the physical tools that can make him dominant. Him being not offered by European teams long-term contract is not our problem anymore. It's safe to criticize him after one tournment is alright but even without him playing yet? Can we just be happy first kumabaga parang honeymoon stage pa to. Right?

Bro, nagtatanong lang naman. And its not to suggest that I question Austin's potential.
I have looked at Austin's credentials & they looked impressive. The guy has decent stats in college playing for Baylor U, averaging 12 pts./game. And he would have been playing in the NBA right now if not for the ailment.

The sbp criteria for naturalized player is:
- the player is underappreciated talent
- headcase in high level ball but has talent (mcgee and blatche were clowns)
- nba level but not in nba (nba rejects)
- might not likely to have a contract/offer war vs other teams
- players seeking for second chance
Guys didn't i make myself clear that i was playing devils advocate to really have an open assessing mind, like i said it's easy to just root for him, I'd be the first person to wish and hope that we grab him and he becomes extremely succesful for us. I guarnantee you Chot and the rest of the team are looking for someone to play the devils advocate, so there isn't "group think" bias. All succesull organizations do this to insure they make the best decisions.
After watching Austin's story I'm sold and i dearly want him to be our guy and dominate , but someones got to step back and think what are the dissavatages if any and risk. to do otherwise isn't really prudent decision making

Well, on the contrary, at least wala pa namang poster ang nagre reklamo dito that Austin is being overhyped

Blind in his right eye, diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, 7'1" Isaiah Austin might just find redemption in our basketball-crazy country as the naturalized player of Gilas Pilipinas.
The Philippines is our nation. Basketball is our religion.
Austin is the perfect slotman in our 1-3-1 offensive sets. That's a very long target of drop and lob passes down there--a significant upgrade over any of our bigs including Blatche.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.
