on the part of SBP it's not always waking up on the wrong side of the bed.

and when finally they wake up in the right side of the bed with a good mindset

the possibility of luring those HS FSA to establish their respective personal and basketball career

here in the PHI permanently, with the same template as Favour and Ange.

well we all know that's the ideal practice FIBA wants to encourage to all it's member NF.

    It's just like they're stuck in 2nd gear,really slow.

      BTW, thanks Silent Killer
Yes, that is how ultra-tall guards are developed. You have to play them "up" levels so they're not the biggest/strongest in the team, that way they're forced to use/develop skills. The other path is having a small guard get a late insane growth spurt, but that rarely happens with pinoys.

If he can't find a team where he will be allowed to play as a wing/guard, then they should consider going overseas asap.

        Good Day Sir Armir,

hehehe...just another day in the office kind of mindset

the typical "on the dot" kind of office employees.

oh well..just a light moments here.

I highly recommend the tv series Slow Horses now on it's 4th Season.

Gary Oldman is one of my favorite character actor in the same breath as

Hugo Weaving, Christopher Waltz, Christopher Walken, Michael Kelly, Lawrence Fishburne, Samuel L. Jackson, Ian McShane, Willem Dafoe

all high levels academy and award winning actors "mga malulupit sa aktingan". trans. A-listers.

        • Anybody have an idea who is the guy in black shirt? He looked so damn tall with a good frame, he looks like he is still young too. If Andwil is 6'9 already, this guy looks like he is on that same height too. Also the one wearing blue who's guarding Andwil seems to be tall too. It's surprising both of them are not on the mainstream of pinoy basketball fanatics yet.

          • news link like this was already posted here in IBN

and please bare me on this if I re-posted it here

I think this is the exact thread for this.

honestly I am not totally a fan of the Snowman and Homer Simpson

and based on my own personal understanding(as usual I am stand to be corrected on this)

that it is just a matter of time before FIBA officially declares QMB's local status

considering all pertinent docs are already submitted to the governing body

and were hoping that it will be announce before the start of the actual training for FIBA Asia Cup in few months time.

with the recent "roadie" result it seems that CTC and Grandpa Chualay badly needs an additional length inside the paint..ASAP

Panlilio bared that the SBP has already been pushing hard since the last quarter of 2024 to get the green light for the 24-year old Fil-American.

“We're checking the green passport of QMB. We also filed before Fiba minus the green passport and checking what they will label him,” said Panlilio in a text message.

“We want make sure that the papers are clear, we don’t want to be embarrassed. Pero syempre, our main goal here is to have QMB play for us as a local. And I think with what he and his family claim, malinaw ang chance that he gets to play as a local,” he said.

For the past three months, the SBP has been working on authenticating QMB's Philippine passport and other documents to back up his claim to eligibility to play for Gilas as a local. But the process takes time

            • just to show that Grandpa Dean are well aware about FIBA's local exemption with another article about player(s) from the other nation who acquired and enjoy that provision.

him being one of SBP and PBA's adviser had the voice to brought up the idea to his fellow Grandpa about giving AK34 a chance to play as a local via PBA drafting.

with the coming 50th Season, we as a fan are hoping that the league may eventually update their very old playbook on player's eligibility.

Gadiaga, 26, was born in Chiba, Japan, to a Senegalese father and American mother. He was raised in Taipei, attending New Taipei Municipal Dan Feng High School, Taipei City Municipal Taishan Senior High School and Shih Hsin University. In the Taiwan league, a foreigner who studied in a domestic school is eligible to play as a local. FIBA granted Gadiaga an exception to play for Chinese-Taipei as a local because of his educational background. Gadiaga played in Taiwan from 2021-22 to 2023-24 then moved to the Akita Northern Happinets in the Japan B-League this season. He was on the Chinese-Taipei team that reached the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games semis, averaging 13.9 points.
Chinese-Taipei battles Gilas in the third FIBA Asia Cup qualifying window at the Taipei Heping Gymnasium tomorrow with two players who didn’t see action in their first round meeting. The host nation is suiting up 6-2 Mohammed Al Bachir Gadiaga and 7-foot Brandon Gilbeck who will lead the charge in seeking revenge on the Philippines.

Maybe unpopular but the league needs to scrap the All-Filipino conference.

Just have each team sign a long term import like UAAP teams and make every conference have its unique feature like Guest Teams.

                • I'm still high on the All-Filipino Conference, though I wish the season had only two conferences: the All-Filipino and a two-import laden conference, basically combining the Governors' and Commissioners' Cups. Those All-Filipino classics are still so entertaining.

                  • On the brighter side, us losing both of these games would force the SBP for QMB's localization.

And hopefully the inclusion of more capable guards like Bolick and Heading, even just in the pool. The currents ones badly need to take their games up a notch higher.

I would replace Perez for Heading, but whom will Bolick replace though? There is no way CTC will replace his main man Scottie, also Newsome is our best defender. Replacing Oftana would make our lineup smaller. The only possible thing would be replacing Oftana with another wing like Navarro or Tolentino.

                          Good day Sir sroth,
                          cc: Sir lemon,

we still need the All-Filipino Conference

that's the most prestigious of all

I've already mentioned it before I think from another thread

that adopting the concept of the NBA's In-Season Tournament is beneficial to the PBA and RP Team moving forward.

because the league is very active in EASL wherein all club teams are required more than 1 import and NP was considered as local

worst our local ball clubs who are participating is a big eye sore against it's Asian counter part because the intention is only to participate not to compete

and we as a fan are mad and doesn't like that.

now in order to build chemistry and cohesion amongst the players esp. with the propose 2 import per team

scrapping either the Governors Cup or the Commissioner Cup is really necessary

and instead invite more than 1 foreign guest team in the same breath as Bay Area Dragon are enticing enough to lure the fans back to watch the game at the venue.

CBA and NBL club teams are highly competitive in Asia-Oceania region and I don't think logistics is a major challenge considering the proximity is not that far

compared to inviting club teams from the ME, Europe or US based that's a very huge investment

oh well...all I know is that the Sheiks had tons of moolah to invest in team sports and they love Filipinos packing their respective arenas

that HK Eastern led by Hayden Blankley and Kobe Lam needs a high caliber import(s) and if only they could upgrade their local lineup by including those BAD team mates

they could give another competitive ball game at the PBA.

as for the benefits for our national team specifically to those who had potential to be part of future Gilas moving forward.

we all know the benefits of playing against international players

it's really up to those PBA Grandpas if they really want new innovations and changes and step out from their very old comfort zone and explore on new things.

They need to let him play in the PBA. Don't care if Ginebra or whichever SMC ends up getting him.

                              • high schoolers like 6'9 Collin Akowe and 6'6 Racine Kane among others

had a fighting chance to get exempted moving forward if they eventually being convince

to be naturalize at this moment.

that's the overall wisdom behind that exemption rule the so-called "before reaching 23 yrs. old".

I do hope those bright people from the academe who runs the UAAP and NCAA are intelligently enough

about the paradigm that is shaping nowadays on the so-called "Globalization and Diaspora: Planet Earth Without Borders."

I don't think it will compromise their so-called line of reasoning about "Patriotism".
