  • I dunno if someone already posted this link of Zero Bucket to the other thread

now it is confirmed coming from QMB itself from an ambush(?) interview

that he obtained his documents when he is still a kid, it is still colored green.

in fairness to DDO Jr. old statement provided by Sir SK from the other thread

I think he is talking about the renewal of the old passport that is why he mentioned that statement

maybe he is not fully informed that it is subject for "Renewal" not related to a "New Account".

honestly, I am also one of those dudes that gotten a news that the main reason why he hasn't

obtained his PH docs during time is because of the tedious process, same with Stephen Holt

so many of us received an "incomplete information" all along,

    "Renewal pala hindi New Account"

anyway, thank you QMB for the clarification, looking forward for the Kai-AJ-JMF-QMB combo

one of the puzzle had been secured

now it's about time for the Hepa-Philips-AK34-Balti puzzle in the immediate future

    • Good , now Sage Tolentino is next! DFA will take care of it to prove that they are really nationalistic!

      • With Kai, QMB, Edu, Chiu, are we set for the next 10 years as our eligible bigs?

        • I'm not too high on Tolentino and Hepa since they haven't shown interest on playing for Gilas and to their Filipino roots, specially Sage. I'd rather have SBP focus their resources in the exemption of Ange and Phillips. Way more realistic. A big man pool of Sotto, Edu, QMB, Tamayo, Kouame, Phillips, Chiu and Baltazar will do it for the next 8-10 years. If this materialize, SBP can target Jalen Green for the naturalized spot. Or any other NBA caliber winger like Ron Harper Junior.

          • Hepa has a relationship with the Philippines. Like Mandaquit, he has participated in an NBTC tournament. I will always leave the door open for those 2. There have been claims that both acquired Ph passports in time.

Agree! Phlips is a must imo. We don't need kangkong in Gilas.

Hepa is a few more steps closer to the Philippines than Sage who identified as a Hawaiian, some thought he's just a very tall Samoan, not big enough to play football lol,I can't even imagine a 7'1 Offensive Lineman .

                  • For some of our young bigs that measure 198-204cm (6'6"-6'8"), I think Juancho Hernangomez, a 6'9" tweener, should be one to emulate. He's a good finisher, he can shoot, and he is a versatile defender. He can defend the perimeter and the post. He's also pretty hardworking and smart on both ends.

Now, his versatility could suit our young bigs well, specifically those who measure 198-204cm. Our young bigs don't have to be overly quick to emulate him, just be quick enough to keep up on the perimeter. Positioning on defense as well.

Based on Tim Cone's Current Gilas Core

Obvious Future Bigs: Kai and AJ.

But for others who are developing.

I think he is developing Mason Amos and Carl Tamayo.

                      Both are 6'8ish Player.

We don't have any quality 7 footers like Kai or even 6'10 Big like AJ in the pool of our Young Big Men.

We have Ust's Zain Mahmood and DLSU's Alex Konov.

But both are 6'7ish only too. And Konov is mych better as a Wing shooter imo. Zain is a little bit undersized imo

Zain is more of a Cardo Ratliffe type of player.

His heft makes up for his lack of size on the interior.

A burly 6'7 dude who can grab rebounds. He just needs an outside shot.

Raven Cortez and Luis Pablo are also worth looking at.

These guys aren’t 6'10+ but they can become good 4s who can help Kai and Edu.

I think we need those guys to be fours if they're to be serviceable for Gilas in the future. Hopefully, they can work on their D or shooting.

We don't have many good 6'10" bigs among the kids. Usually, they're 6'5"-6'8". If that's the case, I think any combination of shooting, versatility on defense, and quickness (at least enough for a FIBA-level 4) should be the norm among the best young bigs in that height range.

                                That's exactly what I emphasized.

No way they'll work out as 5s in the international level.

For now, the closest we have to a back up for Kai + Edu barring passport issues is Geo Chiu.

As a reliever, I'd include him but I don't see Geo as a starter unless his game improves by leaps and bounds.

So it goes like this with Bennie as NP:

                                Scottie - PG
                                Dwight - SG
                                Bennie - SF
                                Tamayo/Kai - PF
                                Kai/Edu/JMF - C
