I don't know whether to put this in the big men or wing men thread, 6'6 14yo
I think he’s a forward for now. In the mpbl jr game he dribbled mainly right handed and pretty much had one move which was that spin to his left. Also didn’t shoot much but his shooting wasn’t good but that video shows he seems to be improving and expanding his repertoire a bit. FEU seems great at development in the high school level

Probably will have a ceiling height of 6'9 and that's a tall forward and the impressive thing about that highligt was his motorskills.

He's at a crucial stage in his development. At 14, he has enough time to make D1 his goal. But that entails a lot more work and constantly playing up. He should avoid leagues where he is the tallest.

He should assume that he will already top out at 6'6 and develop skills needed by guys that height (internationally). If he happens to grow more, then that's what will make him truly special.

That was the disadvantage with how Hepa grew. He grew fast to 6'8 at 14 and that was it. Guys who where smaller at a young age developed better skills and eventually caught up to his height.

There will be coaches/teams that will push him to play as a big (and get stronger/heavier physically) always close to the basket to win games, that's not what's best for him in the long run. Concentrate on developing speed and skills, strength is easier to acquire later on.

I hope this kid has still some growth left in him. A taller version of Tamayo will be good for Gilas.

A normal Filipino stops growing at 15 to 16,but since he has the tall genes,I'm guessing he will grow until 17,so we're looking at possible 6'8-6'9,even Kai stopped growing at 17,he remained at his real measured height of 7'218.

Yeah he has nice balance looking like a ballerina sometimes on that pivot foot, his spin looks very smooth and quick.

I think he looks like Tamayo physically with the body type, even the way he runs is similar to Tamayo also both very much below the rim athletes.

For his age (he''s 14 I think in the video clips), exhibiting such moves is already impressive. I think this kid's basketball skills are innate. Kumbaga eh, such skills just come in handy. He doesn't have to really work hard for it. Well, what more if he works hard for it.

                        Agree.
I remember when Rayray Parks was around 14 yrs old, he was already said to be 6-foot-3, which means he hardly grew since then.

It’s a good thing he only 14 already getting exposure to imports. I’ve noticed imports in the uaap high school level which I think will be interesting for development going forward.

I wasn't aware (only now) that there are FSA in the UAAP high school division. But yeah, the presence of this FSA who usually plays as centers help in developing our local high school players, especially those playing as bigs.

Yep, there have been FSA's in UAAP HS. Actually, their presence moves our bigs to the 4. Helps them become more versatile. We really need more versatile bigs (at least among our best), because our bigs measure just 6'5"-6'8".

For an undersized big (6'7"-6'9") to be able to play center, he'll need to have a good combination of length and athleticism to compensate, ala Mike Phillips.
