I'm seeing bigs like Daep, Borja, Palanca, and Solomon having decent enough laterals to play the 4 and maybe guard the perimeter a bit. Hopefully, they can grow on defense.

If conditions in our country was the best, we would have multiple sports available for young kids. In the US for example, most kids start playing soccer or baseball/softball at around 6. They play for fun and for social purposes. At the same time, like you said, it develops muscle memory. Also agility, reflex, etc.
It's like learning a language, the younger you teach a kid the easier. It's because kids' brains are still developing.
It's the same with sports/movement.
Then there are skills that is very important to learn early (pre-10). Skills like dribbling in basketball, hitting in baseball, "touch" in soccer...learning those skills late is difficult. It's best to teach this really early.

She was even scrimmaging with boys who were 3 years older like Ashton Hardaway (son of Penny) who is also headed D1.
Aside from the skill you are forced to develop, it gives you tremendous confidence that when you face competition your age you dominate.
Locally, Gemao has always been doing this and the results show.

The older guys are right on track to be prototypical pinoy big men.
Playing any sport early would've made a big difference for them. Imagine them having the running ability of a soccer player, reflexes of a baseball player or physicality of a football player. Even simple dribbling training and layup drills early would've raised their potential much higher.

It doesn't hurt that this early, they send them to a more advanced camp for big men,it will put them in a much different basketball scenario, preferably against foreign kids, they get to play against guys their size.

Sir Dave,
I hope your good companions may somehow help our Fil-Kiwi kid 6'8 Jireh Tumaneng to hook-up with the likes of coach Jeff Codera.
I think those from that ADU camp are ain't warm and enthusiastic to develop that kid.
being 17 yrs. old(?) I hope puede pang mai habol yung core ng bata na bigla na lang naglaho na parang bula.
thank you.
