We have enough future bigs right now...damn! We have 11-12 years old 6'1-6'2 kids and we have also 14-15 years old 6'7-6'9 kids...we should hire Serbian coach and trainer for these kids to develop their skills... potential potential!

CTC would have managed JF better because the former is willing to adapt to the modern game.
I’m honestly fed up with these boomer coaches who are obsessed with emulating Shaq.
Shaq is Shaq. No one can ever replicate him.
And why we want our best bigs to be bangers, except in the case of 6'10" strong guys like June Mar, perplexes me. The only thing that would make that justifiable is if the bigs have good length and lateral quickness to go along with strength and weight, especially if they're only 195-203cm (6'5"-6'8").

The truth is, rice or no rice JF dominated the PBA that it didn't matter. If they weren't winning anything I guarantee everyone would be on his @ss to lose weight.
Point is Junemar needed to shed weight if he wanted to compete in FIBA tournaments.

This is all SMB. They wanted TNTs AFC record and they needed heavy Junemar to do it. He was mich better defensively early in his Gilas career, including his standout WC performance. In fact, he moved quite well in his rookie year in the PBA. It all went down hill, when the coaching staff decided that the only way they would win was to play Junemar solely in the paint for close to 40 mins a game. Forgotten was the fact that Junemar and Petron was even more dominant in the Governors cup under coach Abanilla with a two pace approach. I am too lazy to get the stats but I remember the point differential of the Petron Govs cup team was big. They lost in 7 games to Sanmig Light with some questionable moves that you could suspect it was decreed by Al Chua that Sanmig should win to jumpstart their Grandslam + 1
IMO Junemar’s Fiba potential shown in his first WC was sacrificed so SMB could win 5 straight AFCs. SMB and Junemar are not the losers here but us fans who saw for several games Junemars potential against the top teams in the world only never to see it repeated again.

Just watch Bay dragons comments on JF.
