Let's hope the same is true for Quiambao and Cortez. Hopefully they, along with Tamayo, can be all-around defenders as well.

I say we include Tamayo to the Gilas cadet pool for the 2021 SEA Games. Tamayo is ripe for a SEA Games-level basketball.

Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

      • Just watched Tamayo's recent training video. He is working on his footwork, back-to-the-basket moves (mostly turnaround short-range jumpers) & jab step. Tamayo seems to have kept himself fit despite not having played competitive basketball for more than a year now.

A byproduct of the pandemic, its easiest to train on ones dribbling and shooting.

Hope Kobe is also doing it right now. Dribbling is about getting a good feel for the ball & it requires lot of repetitions.

If he's going to be a low-post 4, he'll need those turnaround jumpers and jab steps.

Tamayo as a stretch 4 is quite solid.

As a 3? On the fence. His laterals are a suspect.

IMO, we should just stick to 6'5-6'6 small forwards as we will remain an up-tempo team for some time.

It worked for Puerto Rico and they managed to stay competitive in the last FIBA World Cup.

                PG - 6'1
                SG - 6'2-6'4
                SF - 6'5-6'6
                PF - 6'7-6'9
                C - 6'10+

This can work and I believe we already have the ingredients to capitalize.

Is he willing to be a 4?

Why not? His skill set suggests he's a 4

Yup. RDO had good low post moves specially during his prime & we all know that RDO was our most successful 4 for the National team in the last 20 years or so

I think Harris ends up a big especially if he grows a bit.

I wouldnt exactly consider baltazar as young, especially grouped with the rest of the prospects you mentioned.
