  • Just wanted to show how much of an effect cleaning up technique can increase a person's performance, especially in vertical jump. Its usually the fastest way to gain inches on vertical. Its also a skill that needs practice if you aren't good at it.

Ateneo may look to be a development hub for bigs. He's got shooting ability. Hopefully Tab can develop him well.

I saw part of his video he looks lean and mobile as compared to guys like Chiu and Kirkness

That's good. I saw your take in another thread where he could be trained as a combo forward. I can agree with that, especially if he really is mobile. Moreover, Tab's the head coach, and he doesn't really stick his players into specific positions. He once used a frontline of Navarro-Go-Kouame. Hopefully, later on, he may use Ong in a lineup with two other bigs.

Hopefully, the same mindset will be applied to Demisana, Quiambao, and Tamayo. They kinda have the potential to play from the perimeter. If no taller player is available and they really have to play the 4 or 5, at least train them to defend switches on quicker players and allow them the freedom to attack from the perimeter.

              • potentially he could have been the filipino Han Dejun? Video says he's 7" now. Maybe it's not too late for development if he'll put his heart and soul into it.

He's 22 already, so he has to develop quicker. I don't know how he can develop with a stacked frontline rotation in Letran, though, and especially given that there will be no FSAs this season.

Shame Monteverde is not coaching NSNU anymore. He could have developed this kid further (unless they get a better coach).

Regarding the departure of monteverde in NU, what now for the development of JV Papa

                          • Cuntapay- very physical and plays below the rim. Needs to lose weight IMO
Adamos- Lanky and settles too much for outside shots

                            • Adamos is 6'6", which is undersized for a big (in the international level). He should be taking those outside shots. He looks more the part of a low-post big than a combo forward. Perps should look to hone his perimeter skills.

maybe in the MPBL na, he needs to stop blaming or talking about his missed opportunities and start working out and show his worth. I think there is a decent skills trainer somewhere in the Philippines,as of now maybe he could go and get weights training at home or start some plyometrics just to be in basketball shape. If it's true that he is now 7"(213 cm) or even just 6'11"(211 cm), that would be a waste of talent if he is all potential. At 23, I think Junmar was already in the PBA and was already an MVP afaik.

sayang tong mga to,Casida,Pangalanan,Aquino and Lepalam. Someone can make a big players agency and start putting them into serious, heavy training, maybe they will become a very decent big man in the PBA at least.
