    • if greg play last season that would be his 4th season in college. afaik, JF is ahead by a year over greg. so last season was JF's 5th season supposed last season. but why on earth will UC parade JF next season in which it will be his 6th season in college? meaning he can play in PBADL or at best with gilas. but?

i think JF was redshirted due to injury in his 2nd year. that's the reason why he still got 1 season left of eligibility. but who knows, tuikinhoy is a man close to atty. go the owner of UC and they might have some wheeling and dealings over there.

          • Gaisano Capital makes it 4-0
By Gabby G. Malagar (The Freeman)

CEBU, Philippines - Gaisano Capital drilled in 11 triples in a 67-48 demolition of Lion Tiger to claim the top spot with a clean 4-0 win-loss record in the 5th CESAFI Partners' Cup last Tuesday at the Cebu Coliseum.

            Games today

            (Cebu Coliseum)

5:30 pm San Marino vs. Gaisano Capital

7 pm Ave Maria vs. Lion Tiger

The Junemar Fajardo-led Gaisano Capital tries to move within a first round sweep tonight against former champion San Marino Corned Tuna bannered by the SWU Cobras crew and could fulfill a six-game sweep on Saturday against the highly-energized Prime Asia Pawnshop, whose 75-71 victory in overtime against the Rose Aquarius Merchandising gave them an even 2-2 record.

Gaisano Capital struggled through the entire first half without tasting a lead except for the 2-0 start and was down by at least 10 points, 4-14, before the end of the opening period.

Again, Lion Tiger took a 0-point lead, 23-13 at the 6:14 mark of the second quarter but those number were gone quickly when Gerald Ampoon and Archie Batua converted two three-pointers each as they came within a striking distance at the intermission, 28-31.

Fajardo, who was fielded for the first time only in the third quarter along with bullstrong guard Quinton Brian Heruela, made their presence suddenly felt and led a destructive force that did not only wipe out Lion Tiger's led but also grab the lead for good.

Not so long in the court, Glenn Magallanes darted in three triples of his 13 points in the third period as Gaisano Capital started to control the tempo of the game and then Heruela added two more treys in the fourth to finish off the job.

Fajardo topscored for Gaisano Capital with 14 points, but the rest had ample contribution especially from the three-point arc with Hereula, Batua, Ampoon and Robinson Mohammad sinking in two triples each.

Earlier, the 2-2 Prime Asia, who outscored Rose Aquarius, 11-7 in overtime, was led by Giovanni Padillo with 22 points, while Fritz Dajalos had 19 points for the 0-3 Rose Aquarius.

            The scores

Before Junmar enters the draft, he must strut his wares in the PBA D-League first. So that the other scouts will gauge if he's good enough for the big league.

from what I gotten the PBA could not have the players comply with the play first at the D-League requirement as a lot of the players had already complained that if such is the case then the Smart Gilas players should be required also or if they allow them then it is about "double standard" and favoritism.

What the PBA can do is still require attendance on the Rookie Draft Camp which they have done in the past years.

But as of now it looks there is no need to gauge Fajardo because the different scouts of all PBA teams had already seen him play at Cebu. With some already talking to his handlers.

Now if Powerade gets him, they will finally have a true center.. Though the last time they had one was Asi Taulava not too long ago.. Their team has lots of potential..

Those complainants must be the biggest a-holes this side of the Pacific. Why compel Smart Gilas players to join the D-League when these players have already competed against the PBA players themselves in one conference and and won against them. It's not about "double standards", it's about the truth.

Commissioner Salud, better man up for this. Don't let those handlers and managers think they can force you to bend to their wishes.

Exactly. The whole process of having potential rookies play in the D-League is to get them exposed to the team management. It's no different from an apprenticeship period for these young turks. To force the national team members to join the D-League just to comply to the rules is myopic and trivial. The spirit of the rule must be the one addressed here, not the content.

Unless the rule of having them play in the D-League has purposes other than what was written above.

d-league requirement should only be for fililpino-foreigners which did not attend at least two years of college in the phi.
