At this point I would rather have SGA be the philippine representative in EASL.

This team looks weaker than the last one. Mikey is rusty. Abando is ok. Dave looks bad. Brickman is ok but is not a high scorer. Cousins is good on offense bad on defense. The other former NBA is good on drives but low percentage from 3. McCullough looks rusty but still a good scorer. Kouame doesnt look comfortable. I really think he should have gotten a surgery.

Despite a soup up line up, SGA could only beat the UAE national team by only 8 pts. Even if we say that this UAE team got stronger with the addition of a good quality naturalized player, SGA is just super loaded with talent with great size to beat a low tier Asian team.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Dave has always been bad in his post-college career. All throughout his professional career so far, he has not shown anything yet. Which is why Northport could not be bothered giving him a contract since he won't make a difference anyway.

in comparison, last years team has good perimeter defenders (roberson, heading)..

plus good shooting as well (quiambao, heading)

To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                    1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Remember they beat OQT participant Bahrain last year... UAE, like other Gulf countries now investing basketball, they are also hosting some team USA warm up games, holding NBA pre season games, having a ball club participating in ABA league and will host Final 4 of Euroleague this year, I'm not surprised the way UAE is now turning seriously on their basketball program... It seems Gulf countries now embracing basketball as their 2nd sport after football... As Saudi basketball chief says, basketball now is the 2nd watch/most popular sport in middle east today... And it's good for basketball competition as whole.. We all know those gulf countries have resources to improve their basketball program, they can easily hire quality coaches, grassroot program and finding quality players...

I'm convinced Blatche became out of shape on purpose so he can get signed to lower play to pay leagues with a bit more leeway. Even Douthiht was still in great shape at 38 playing pro ball in Thailand.

Blatche would have still been usefull if he’s still in shape ( kahit 2019 fiba shape would do)

he’s just a year or 2 older than JB !

Maybe he can play in Mongolian league... Cousins will play there after this SGA stint.. he can be a dominant players there since mongolians are too small...

Chemistry issues... This is the first time playing together.. they don't know each other yet.. and most of their players are not regular professional player participants such as Blatche, Mikey and Dave.. they are all rusty...
