  • Yeah, the way I see it, both Morales and Diao play for their own schools, whether they are public or private. Neither of their schools is known for having a strong basketball program, so in order to get noticed by scouts, they need to either win the state playoffs by leading their team or have an outstanding season that would make them state MVP, but Edryn made it to the All-Tournament Team so it is not bad at all. Too bad he and his team fell short in the state playoffs and were beaten in the semifinals. He was the star player on that team. Though I’m not saying that leading the team to a state championship would have guaranteed him D1 offers, it definitely would have been a start. I think Edryn should consider reclassifying later so he would have an extra year to train, and join Clubs/AAU teams as what was stated above. From what I see, he has what it takes to be a D1 athlete. Also, in that U17 World Cup disaster, he was the only player who stood out, aside from Daja, and he was playing out of position at that time.

    • College coaches assume that if a kid is good, top HS coaches would've already recruited him. They only have a limited amount of time assessing thousands of players so they do their scouting efficiently...attend camps/tournaments where the perceived best is already attending (sneaker tournaments) or high division HS.

This is why a benchwarmer in a high-division HS can have multiple offers while a star in a low-division HS won't have any. Just like how even bench uaap/ncaa HS players will have college offers somewhere while stars from random Philippine HS won't get discovered.

An asian without exceptional physical attributes won't get noticed without being proactive in the US.

In the ncaa they have 6'7 bigs james daep and aries borja, ex batang gilas player basti reyes, and couple more 6'5 bigs who
i think are also graduating, One of the deepest when it comes to size in recent memory. The boys today are really getting taller
Cabs Cabonillas and Marc Burgos is Class 2026. They’ll play their last playing year for FEU jrs but they’re still undecided for college if they’ll with the Tams (because of Denok) Castillejos is now practicing with the seniors team but it’s not yet 100% sure if he’ll stay. The latest update on him is he’s already decided to play for another UAAP school (again because of Denok’s attitude lol) but looks like Chambers is trying to convince him to stay since he’s high on the kid. Denok traumatized these kids man, he’s destroying the FEU pipeline.

        • FEU secured the commitment of Liam Salangsang. Chambers promised him that he’ll give him a sure spot to the team. Looks like there will be no spot for Dwyne Miranda or maybe his dad will make a move to ensure his he’ll get a roster spot.

Miranda isnt doing a lot with the red robins anyways in fact he just proved how poor his shot selection is. Also doesnt help that he's not the main scorer of his team now.

My bad, but they are 2006 born players like their peers so i assumed as such. This should even be beneficial for him since he could be the number 1 recruit in next year's class, and with feu's track record of developing guys like pre, he should be highly coveted by the major programs.

I heard that Tab messaged him and Burgos. But they immediately reported/told it to the management. Mark Molina is also prepping for the potential bidding war for these gentlemen.

Tab doing his job. Cant blame ateneo if they wanna recruit a standout to a team thats in dire need of star power. Realistically tho what are the chances of them staying put? Feu is already loading up with talented youngster and filams, if the programs stays in the current direction, they should be even better in years to come.

                  • looool at UP and Ateneo coaches being sit together in finals of NU / UST. Them sponsors might be ready to throw money at Akowe. Especially since UP is not having a super FSA at all.

Maybe around 50-60% chance. Some of the players are scared to stay with FEU because they feel Denok will be back at seniors level soon. So i’d say it’s really up how they assure these kids that Denok will not be back soon. There are players that opted to continue their studies and go home to their province. All because of one guy, “PROGRAM DIRECTOR” MIRANDA. Apologies if i always talk about Denok in some of my replies, it’s just frustrating how the internal situation of the team is getting worse everyday bc of him.

                              Sir lemon,
                              cc: Sir Drain; Sir Evan,

                              not bad at all.

it's worth of an investment. assuming if they are people with a vision to the future.

if the mindset of those stakeholders are not only for there respective school or alumni

but also for the betterment of Philippine basketball as a whole.

developing and nurturing kids of any color or race thru education and thru sports is biblical.

even though it is not literally written in the holy scripture but the wisdom and good deeds behind that is all over that sacred book.

UAAP and NCAA member schools are majority run by religious sects

no wonder FIBA are really encouraging all it's member NF thru it's Rules and Regulation on Eligibility to create and implement a genuine grassroot program of their own.

and for me honestly, it's a fair game.
