Trouble brewing in baste?? Saw this in a fb post by a known baste supporter:

"It’s now confirmed—Paeng Are has decided to forgo his final playing year with the San Sebastian Golden Stags. He is reportedly set to take his talents to Quezon City in the MPBL, marking the start of his professional basketball journey.

A source close to the situation mentioned that internal politics within the team may have contributed to his decision. Allegedly, there have been efforts to discredit the new coaching staff and management to school officials, creating tension that possibly influenced Paeng’s choice.

The new management has been credited with significant improvements to the basketball program, including upgrading the school gym—efforts that benefited both the team and Paeng during his time with the Stags. Despite these positive changes, this decision marks a major turning point for the Golden Stags.

We also hope that the sponsors and coaches stay with the program. They have been a big help in building up the basketball program and its legacy. We continue to trust and believe in Coach Arvin Bonleon and the management, who have been instrumental in these developments.

This is undoubtedly a big loss for San Sebastian, but we remain proud of Paeng’s contributions and excited for his next chapter in the MPBL. Let’s continue to support both Paeng and the Golden Stags as they move forward. ❤️

Good for him. Jru was going nowhere with louie gonzales around. Prolly had more suspensions between him and his players than wins in his jru stint

Edward Ryan will battle Gulapa and Delos Reyes for the back up center position which Igliane is the main big. Is sapasap eligible for S101? He is also a promising recruit. Pantaleon, Valentin, Macaranas and Lazarte are pretty much the same. Should let go 2 or 1 of them. Anagbogu maybe next season.
both are 21 yrs old, turning 22 this year, so 3 playing years for both Drex and Joe.

Yes, Sapasap is eligible for S101.

My bad not with puno. Lol but would love to see him with practice with him.

Internal politics is really happening in Baste. But I believe it’s not exclusive to Baste. That kind of issue happens on most teams. Like giving favors to an individual who has a benefactor backer. Some individual or group who wants to have a say in the final lineup. Something like that. Usually a tension occurs between the other benefactors, some reps who wants to have a say vs. the main sponsor.

Apparently an individual who has close ties to school officials wants a certain athlete to be included in the lineup even though he’s basically useless. He spent majority of the time at the bench last season. And the coaches are not amenable to that coz again he’s useless! His spot would be put to waste considering the influx of the incoming recruits for next season. I hope for Cocolife to assert their position. Besides they are the one who has a contract to Baste.

The only way for Cocolife and their group to assert their dominance is for them to focus on the task at hand. Bring Baste back to relevance or even better bring Baste back to F4 and they will have more muscle on the decision making of the team. Anyway, with the departure of Are, I guess Maxie, Reid and Ronquillo has a sure spot now in team A. I think the main facilitator would be Pascual as he is a pass first PG. And then Ronquillo and Maliwat will be backup. I expect Maxie and Reid to play SG or a combo guard especially Maxie. Maxie has a good potential of being a good facilitator. Also that Cabilla kid from Guang Ming has a sweet shooting on the rainbow territory. He’s just trigger happy at times. A toned down version of Aguilar. But I hope the coaches address that to him while starting his way up. But that Cabilla kid definitely has a better shooting form than Aguilar. He’s like a raw version of Bulanadi.

Yup, weeks back someone in the uaap thread shared the same issues with feu, not sure if that has been resolved. I guess ue and sga is also experiencing it prolly reason why they pulled out their coach and players from their wvt. Who is the player their trying to force in the lineup? Is it someone's son?

I think the new guy has suited up today in Behold’s game in the SBB. He started alongside Jimmy Reyes in the backcourt. The number 4 guy. Or this is another recruit? Lol

When is the next tournament for the cardinals? Teams got bigger hopefully the bigs can catch up with the team’s pace and not became a liability.

might be difficult, the Cardinals have the following:
                              Cuenco (101, 102)
                              Mangubat (101 to 104)
                              Bancale (101-103)
                              Gonzales (101)
not unless he is okay to stay at Team B for 1 year.
