My only issue is that if he and ronquillo play together, they'll be gambling against teams that have bigger backcourt duos. To compensate they'll prolly need to keep their pressure d to force to's like last year
How tall is Hinoguin? 5’9 or 5’10? I think the best thing Jevy could do is for him to work on his upper body. That way he can absorb the physicality in NCAA. Just like how Are did it. Are worked on his upper body and his game changed since then. Another good thing with Hinoguin is his vertical. I even saw him dunk. But it’s not in-game though. Hehe remember his rebound during the endgame of Pasig vs. Caloocan. I think that proves how high his vertical is. Also his wingspan is also good for his size.

    • OT: the NCAA is well represented in a pretty good finals series in the PBA

      • The top players of the NCAA can end up like the top UAAP players. The issue is that overall scouts/coaches respect UAAP prospects more. Only one UAAP student ended up undrafted last draft while the likes of Jielo Razon somehow ended up undrafted.

The way i look at it, pba scouts take into account uaap guys face off against bigger fsas on the regular. Somehow you can say the level of competition is a bit higher coz of it. And since in the pba 2 out of 3 conferences are import reinforced, those battles and familiarity against foreign players comes in handy.

If you actually noticed there's only a handful of ncaa bigs that make it in league, even if there's a scarcity of big men there Most of these ncaa bigs are relagated to play in an import less mpbl. Lets not even talk about the guards since the league is already guard heavy (prolly why razon was undrafted in the first place).

More Schools having backers( some of whom have connections in the pba) is a step in a right direction since it does raise the competitiveness of the league a bit, but imo if the ncaa wants more guys in the pba, they need to bring back the fsa's and improve the league's marketability.

NCAA teams play a bunch of off-season tourney against teams with FSA's & even train abroad. Even here some regularly practice with foreign players.

Only a handful. Last year only san beda and mapua trained abroad. And those offseason tourneys they join, most of the the time its not that competitive as teams see these only as tuneup games. Some even play their bench or team b guys. Totally different atmosphere when it comes to actually playing against fsas in their mother league where games actually matter

              • Some teams in the UAAP are arguably bigger than PBA teams. Guys are already playing in positions/roles that they will be playing at the next level. Guys who still need to transition/adjust if they turn pro are at a disadvantage.

Aside from reps against bigger competition, UAAP players also get the benefit of better-experienced coaches.

Exceptional players (the cream) still come from both leagues, but as a whole, NCAA is at a disadvantage. Which is why most blue-chippers out of HS choose UAAP which then continues the cycle.

He looks lost and maybe not in condition yet, maybe in the following months we’ll se more of him. It’s nitura who is doing good for the cardinals. Perps meanwhile is going all out by playing their team A. I see them as a final 4 team this year. Why is cyril, drex, cy and clint not playing?

                            • SBU got demolished by Ateneo. On the bright side, it's nice to see Nygel Gonzales returning to his old self.

The game was close after three quarters. Bad shooting day for SBU. ADMU’s new FSA was just too physical for the local bigs of SBU. Also ADMU was shooting the lights out from three-point land.

It would have beem nice to see Lina and Celzo shoot outside to draw the ADMU FSA out of the paint.
