Meanwhile, San Beda’s chances would depend on hopefully an injury-free offseason. The inclusion of Jimmy and Janti already address the lack of leadership that the RL encountered in season 100. Not yet sure if Puno and/or Andrada will return but the earlier they declare their intent to play in Season 101, the better.
That’s what they also said with SBU last year despite Jacob Cortez leaving. The Mapua transferees for S101 are really good on paper like the SBU transferees for S100.

But it remains to be seen if they (Mapua holdovers and transferees) can jell together.

Puno and Andrada are open to come back next year (2025). They can play and still apply for the PBA Draft. But the downside is that they’ll miss one PBA conference. This is what James Kwekuteye was trying to avoid so he decided to skipped his final year in 2033. Puno has interests overseas. I don’t know if that will translate to a contract offer.

Hopefully Andrada and Puno will still play for another year so we can see how they'll fair with the filam recruits. Man Sajonia is such a disappointment

Why did he even leave in the first place? Seemed like coach nash had plans for him and was already being featured in the team. Pretty mind boggling imo.

The first preseason tournament (prior to S101) likely will be the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup. I certainly hope schools like Perpetual, Letran, Mapua and CSB finally participate in the tournament. Last year it was only DLSU, SBU and CEU who were serious competitors.

Letran, Mapua and Perpetual were previous participants in this tournament.

The DLeague Aspirants Cup historically opens either on March or April.

The problem with SBU in S100 is their identity. They don’t know the capabilities of their team. Sometimes they are a 3 point shooting team. Sometimes they are getting outworked and outrebounded by smaller teams. (MU, SSC-R). They don’t know who’s their main guy. Sometimes its Sajonia, Estacio or Andrada. Even Payosing had his moments and Puno. Maybe their depth got into them and the only consistent guy finishing games is Andrada. SBU needs to address their respective roles into the team in order for them to get back to their track. In S99 they know that Jacob is the guy and Yukien is the other. Puno and Payosing are mostly energizers and Nygel is their stabilizer. I expect Sajonia to fill in the role of Jacob but sometimes, he doesn’t finish games due to his bad decisions. Adding Jimmy Reyes and Janti Miller could address this problem by giving Jimmy the keys and getting Sajonia as the Robin. Also, I think RC Calimag, who’s arguably the best spot up shooter in the team aside from Yukien, didn’t have enough touches to make his presence felt. I thought he was going to be a Garvo Lanete archetype or a Clint Doliguez. Well, one thing is for sure. Don’t count San Beda out.

If they are looking at the PBA, they will get drafted for sure. Every servicable big gets drafted. That being said, draft stock will depend on who else will declare.

If bismark lina manages to get healthy this offseasom, i feel like he'll have a monster year in season 101. Add to that the perimeter scoring of reyes and the slashing capability of miller and beda has themselves balanced offense that can adapt to any defense they face. Imo beda badly missed a go to guy last season and that should be addressed with the filams.

Imho Sajonia is not fit in Yuri's system. I think sajonia and payosing will thrive at mpbl lol

People expect sajonia to be a better scorer version of jacob cortez? Or expect him to be a guard he is an undersized forward

He is fine in an off the bench role. Problem is he's being asked / forced to be the main scorer.

Actually his perfect role would be the same as how he plays in feu. Yeah I think the community expected too much from him since he is a beast in his residency year.
