The SBP should just bring back the cadets to play in the SEA Games; we have nothing to lose.

If they don’t get the gold, that’s where the learning experience matters.

If they win, we’re still number one in SEA. Even if they don’t win, we remain the strongest for obvious reasons.

Honestly, if the stars align and our youth team qualifies for either the U17 or U19 World Cup, I say we use the SEA Games as preparation.

      Alas Pilipinas mens volleyball
      Alas Pilipinas womens volleyball
      Philippine mens baseball team
      Philippine womens softball team
      Philippine Azkals men's team (football)
      Filipinas womens team (football)
      Philippine mens rugby team
      Philippine womens rugby team

And is the host Thailand include some newest Olympic sports additions such as Lacrosse, cricket and flag football?
As others already said, this is a basketball forum.

So, by default, the discussion is about the PH basketball team 5x5 and 3x3 in the sea games.

Yeah, but seagames is not just about basketball... Better we have to topic not just 1 sport only.. we have to encourage everyone that we are not just focus on one sport only (basketball)... Last Olympics we are the best performing ASEAN nation, So we have the potential to become Asean. Powerhouse in sports.. we have to appreciate all sports category since seagames is a multi sporting event.. better put seagames basketball in the thread if that's the case... That's why many hates basketball (especially the casuals and fan of other sports thinking all of focus, especially monetary wise are just in one sport) and it will not stop..

Many wants that, but our stakeholders are afraid of bashing especially those who hate basketball because they think basketball is a waste of resources (thanks Agot Isidro), Sasabihin "tigilan na yang basketball, mag focus nalang sa ibang sports".. I'm tired of those stupid ignorant people who doesn't know sports... Did you saw when we lose to Indonesia couple of years ago? The public hates Chot a lot... They don't want to be in that way... Maybe mixture of cadets and some professional players are likely the best choice for seagames basketball...

Unfortunately most of the sports are no forums to discuss... Because many says we are just focus on one sport... After Olympics, I think every Filipinos now awaken that there are many sports that we should appreciate.. and also prove to haters and ignorant people (Thanks Agot Isidro) that we are basketball fans are also fans of other sports especially our Filipino athletes... It's time that we have to appreciate all sports.. diba mas masarap that we are rising potential powerhouse in the world of sporting event.. in seagames, I think we should be in top 3 or 4 country in the region while in 2026 Asian games, we should break that 4 gold medal Barrier that we can't surpass.. I think we can manage to win 7-10 gold medals in 2026 Asian games...

Heck, we had a thread for the 2022 FIFA World Cup: https://www.interbasket.net/forums/f...noy-hoops-fans
Maybe you should create a thread for all Philippine sports, updates from Carlos Yulo, EJ Obiena (he's injured and he will sat out for the rest of the year), and other sports that we have to appreciate.. After Olympics, I realized that it's time that we should appreciate our athletes more and discuss their potential to win medals to us.. this is the time now that we realize that we have potential to be a rising powerhouse in sporting event...look at last Olympics, we are the best performing among ASEAN countries in 2nd straight Olympics.. my other dream is to be top 3 performing country in seagames w/o hosting and in Asian games, we should break that 4 gold medal barrier that we can't surpass.. I think in 2026 Asian games, we can win as many as 7-10 gold medals..

If Choke is still the SBP director and we take his word from his interview after winning the last SEA games basketball gold medal where he said that it will be the last time in awhile where the SBP will send their main team and they would shift to sending the younger players for their development and international exposure then we could assume that it would be either a mix of young PBA players and collegiate stars or a team composed of mainly amateur/collegiate players.

off- topic : with the recognition of non- traditional sports to Olympics and other multi-sports events, it is time for sports authorities pay attention to sports which utilises low-cost makeshift facilities. Low-cost structures which are hosting newly recognised sports such as 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, wall climbing, off-road country cross cycling, etc. etc. fits the bill…

                        Sir Tootch,

                        if that's already confirm.

well our ineligible hafus are still superior compared to the hafus from other Asean neighbors both on Men and Women basketball.

also, team sports like Floorball and Ice Hockey would probably be included on the coming SEA Games

our hafus on both team sports are amongst the best specially our World Cup bound Floorball team composed of Fil-Nordics

as for our Ice Hockey team, I dunno if some of those currently playing in NHL and US Div 1 schools had already completed their papers and switching of NF's.

Little bit OT: I am so sad that because of hatred of some netizens to Carlos Yulo, some people telling "Anong mapapala ng Pilipinas sa sports"... This is so sad.. What happened to the nationalism of our countrymen.. They didn't respect our athletes because they hate Carlos Yulo not reconciliation with his family.. if they hate Carlos because of his beef with his mom, then they should not tolerate also all athletes that sports is not a thing and it just waste of time... I'm sure if Philippines can't win any single medal, they will also hate our government because they do nothing to improve our sports program here... Poor people hating Yulo...

Do you think George King is a worthy another naturalized player candidate? He is also same height as Brownlee... Can shoot, can defend, can rebound, can do everything.. Boatwright is good but if he's prone to any injuries then they should look for another prospect.. George King is the answer...

Why would you naturalize a 30 year old though LOL

Why not? Brownlee was naturalized at age of 35... Chism was naturalized by Bahrain at 34 years of age... The possible youngest you can naturalized is between 28-30.. you can't naturalized younger than that unless like Kouame who is already live here at his teen years, but raw... Boatwright is now 28 and he might get his passport next year but he's injured prone... You can't find a player, especially Americans who will naturalized to other country at their early age except Bolden of Indonesia but he's not available in most of the tournaments, w/c is not applicable since we need a naturalized player who is available every game of our national team games... Indonesia can't use every single of Bolden's availability.. so that is a waste of money and time for naturalization... Americans treating naturalization as their career jobs and just a last option... They will prioritize first NBA careers (if have) before considering being naturalized by other countries...
