if indeed Sir Bill Velasco's claimed that he already obtained a ph docs before his 16th bday

Can this be a Thon Maker like - switching whatever nationality he wants to represent? Talking about Kamaka Hepa if he indeed had a passport before 16.

and I read something like Embiid was able to represent USA as a local instead of naturalize?

Parang super lax ng FIBA from recently.

And I get like Lassiter, Newsome, Slaughter were our exemptions, but these guys were not strongly pushed for exemption like Clarkson who was repeatedly denied because of technicalities.

Hopefully, there is still a pathway for Clarkson to be eligible as a local player in FIBA. Players who rely on skills not on athleticism ages like fine wine internationally.

On Embiid, this is first time to rep a country. There is no hagop rule in the Olympics. Iirc, you can have 12 naturalised players and the ioc won't rally care as long as you are a citizen when the roster was submitted. I dont think Embiid will be classified as local in any Fiba games.

Clarkson was rejected before. I dont think Fiba will ever change its mind anymore. Just think how bad that will look if they rejected someone for years only to over turn in the future. Everyone would thrn use this to pressure the secgen. Also, we pushed and did not give FIBA enough evidence to consider gum before, what on earth can we give that we haven't that will make them change their decision? Palate yun passport from recto?

I'd focus on mandaquit and dylan harper IF they indeed have passports already. Give Sanderson and Mize auto spots to the next FIBA games just to clear them now. Bahala na when they are needed for gilas, atleast they would hopefully be considered local by that time.

I doubt with Kamaka’s securement of Philippine passport at age 16. During an interview in 2017 NBTC tournament he stated he recently just known the details of his Filipino heritage. And that weeks before he flew with the FilAm Nation select team to Manila. He was born year 2000 and peeps do your maths. He maybe able to apply for 2025 PBA draft but to play for Gilas in FIBA sanctioned tournament? I doubt it. Passport before he reached 18 maybe.

Him playing for US under19 NT is less on SBP’s worries all they need is just write US Basketball for Kamaka’s release.

Jarod Lucas was also reported to have obtained Philippine passport at age 18. Well, maybe with the assistance of FilAm Nation.

It’s preposterous for PBA to cover incoming prospects for 2025 draft under its outdated rookie scale salary cap. What if journeymen Jason Brickman and DJ Fenner decide to apply and get drafted? Obviously they will not be happy if the PBA team that drafted them will offer the current rookie pay scale.

No wonder Thirdy Ravena is trying all he can to avoid playing in PBA. After earning huge salary in Japan and Dubai, I don’t blame him…

And also could be one of the reason why Rhenz Abando did not apply this year’s draft…

                    CJ Lane
                    Justice De Corsi
                    DJ Fenner
                    Mikh Mckinney
Brickman’s age is about 33 thus diminishing his stock but he may get drafted in late 1st round or in second round. With a player with his credentials he can still play at least 1-2 years as solid starting PG in PBA before he eventually hang his jersey.

Lane, De Corsi, Fenner and McKinney are all beyond their prime and already above 28 y.o. Realistically I think only 2 of them may end up in PBA next year. DJ Fenner and CJ Lane.

PBA will be entering its 50th year next year and with much fanfare about to happen expect all PBA stakeholders will put all their hands on deck. And prepare in full wing and all out. That will include 2025 draft. So I expect more blue chip players to apply in addition to those you listed above. I believe Kamaka and Remy will send their feelers.

I think one of PBA teams will make a serious bid to persuade Jarod Lucas to enter draft. In short, next year draft would be the most talented cohort in 50 years of league’s existence.

Escamis might join the draft. 1st rounder or early second round prospect.

Not sure about the reliability of this article, but it's rumored that Phillips is not yet out of the running for 2025 PBA draft:

Mike should definitely get drafted on the next one, just get his Gilas eligibility asap. Ben is already drafted but hes still with La Salle the past season
