Banchero has a better shot at being the next Alpha.

If he didn’t play for the Magic, I would root for him more.

      • Vannesa Sarno failed to enter final phase after failed to lift 100 kg snatch... While Pagdanganan and Dottie still outside top 10 finish going into final round today.. it seems our medal tally is now done to 2 golds and 2 bronze medals... Good showing than last 2021 Olympics with 1 gold , 2 silvers and 1 bronze medal... We could be better if our prospects won but that is the life of sports, sometimes win and sometimes lose... I think we can win again gold and better performance in 2028 LA Olympics.. Yulo will lead the charge to grab again maybe not just 2 gold medals, Obiena will be his last Olympics in 2028, he will sure that he will win a medal, weightlifters will be better than today.. with rigorously training, they will grab medals.. although boxing inclusion in 2028 is in danger... If boxing will not held in 2028, we will lose medal prospects.. what do you think? Can Philippines again improve their medal tally in 2028?

        • Meanwhile ASEAN countries improve their medal tally than their 2021 edition... Indonesia improve from 1-1-3 finish to 2-0-1 medals... They could be better if their badminton team won more medals, Thailand improve from 1-0-1 finish to 1-3-2 medals.. they could won more medals but many didn't win, especially in boxing... Singapore also won a bronze medal in sailing just yesterday and ending their 8 year medal drought... Malaysia still steady at 2 bronze medal... The biggest disappointment among ASEAN nations is Vietnam... They are back to back seagames overall champions but also back to back didn't tally any medals in last 2 Olympic editions... The reason they won numerous medals in seagames because of their medal winners playing in mostly non Olympic sports and especially traditional sports that is not relevant in Olympic category... They should change their mindset and focus to win medals in Asian games and especially Olympics....

          • In 2028, POC and PSC should focus on athletes who can win medals and give them more extensive training to be better athletes... Gymnastics, weightlifting and Pole Vaulting are our medal haul and give them more attention than ever to produce best results in 2028... Boxing is another spor category that we can win medals but the sport still not included in 2028 sports category and possibly will be left out if the controversy surrounding boxing amateur federation still not fix their problems... I know many controversial happened in the past but I hope they still include boxing but better officiating, judges from the scorecard...

            • I think critics should put their money where their mouth is. For those who complain about other sports not being popular, then do something about it. For majority of Filipinos with short kids, for heaven's sake veer them into other sports where they have a chance of being world elite. Volunteer and do the effort to make that sport popular and figure out ways to get your kids elite training. The internet makes everything easier now. From training videos to networking.

Instances like Yulo growing up and connecting with a Japanese coach (or Obiena with his European coach) is now much much easier to accomplish because of the internet and social media.

Stop expecting the government to do things. If athletes like Yulo and Obiena waited for that government support, they would have accomplished nothing.

Those crictics wants attention.. and they knew basketball is most popular sport, paano sila mapapansin if they say stop supporting football? Eh that is not most popular sport here in the Philippines... So they use basketball as their scapegoat for their attention... That means basketball still the most popular sport in the Philippines until now... No one close...

                  • personally, I didn't predict nor re-consider France to play in the medal rounds

USA, Serbia, Germany and Canada will slug it out, well apparently I was wrong

that is why I love sports as a whole because it is very exciting, lot's of twist and turns

unpredictability plays a major role in any Olympics when the best of the best on each cycle or era collides.

as for the next cycle in LA28, many people already aspiring on this including me since my childhood days

the creation of Department of Sports and BBM already mentioned that upon his meeting and the other athletes

he will personally ask Caloy what other things he wants because he is also aspiring to have more medals moving forward

as for the other sports that we can excel and win more mints.

I totally agree that Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Boxing are the traditions.

but I also want to add Swimming, Shooting, Archery and some events in Athletics aside from Pole Vaulting that I think the Filipino can compete on that level.

as I said the Department of Sports is the key for this.

Grassroot Development, Competitive Budget, Inter-Agency assistance and connections among others.

plus as per PSC by laws, Pagcor, Philracom are entitled to remit that 5 percent on every income and it already had a very favorable decision by the SC when some of group of evil minded Filipinos

who is in the position questioned that provision before, but unfortunately, despite that favorable verdict it's not yet impose.

oh dear, since the time of revolution, Filipinos are really known for being Pabibo-bibo, Pabida-bida, Papogi-pogi and that Bayong Masked during Japs era. trans. PSC should have balls to follow-up ASAP.

additionally as per that PSC by-laws, private entities who had the intention to help any sports discipline are entitled for that Tax Incentives or holidays(?) moving forward.

Grandpa Noli w/ Grandpa Gera already mentioned this awhile ago in their Power N' Play show

more money more Olympic level athletes.

                    • interestingly those beefy Afro-French will really makes a difference vs. those more athletic Afro-Ams

those home crowd and sprinkle it with some delicious French cuisine cooking(?) are quite a narrative really.

                      let's see.

Jayson "Let's goooo" Tatum should play, he don't deserve that butt warming

                      • French players showed a lot of puso in their game against Canada and Germany. Specially Yabusele, Cordinier and Lessort. They used the home crowd to their advantage unlike us. And their home crowd was raucous, unlike us.

In other news, Germany losing to Serbia in the Bronze Medal Game takes away even more credit from the FIBA World Cup.

That's what I'm talking about since last year... Why not using drums and ultras to have crowd energy for the players? Organizers only think about revenue and not the advantages of the host...
