I thought for a while the Americans are gonna lose this game.
Prior to this game I predicted the US to win by at least 18 pts. Too bad for Serbia that they had to face the Americans in the semis. If it had been either France or Germany that Serbia faced in the semis, I think Serbia would have advanced in the finals.

Ant and Jaylen are the only two takeover guys in that 5. Brunson is too small, Tatum is too timid while Embiid is, most of the time, lost. Booker is the other takeover that I know. 2028 could be alot harder without LeBron, KD and Steph since these are taking charge and save them if things go south. They have close games against Germany, Australia, South Sudan and Serbia that could have gone in favor of their (US) opponents. They were just saved in those games.

Not even sure about bronze.... Wemby is way better in his 5th year NBA career.. Serbia still better with 33 year old Jokic in 2028... Germany still intact despite lose to France.. Canada w/ more matured Edey still contenders and who knows many countries will come out and surprise us...

Will France have a chance? I doubt Collet first.. but he adjusted (something that Chot didn't did) by benching Gobert to be faster... Yabusele was the revelation here... But in the finals, they have to play Gobert here.. since it will be NBA type of game, Gobert is much needed, he knows how to defend AD or Bam because for familiarity... Wemby will guard KD since he is only guy in whole tournament that can match KD power.. now if France wants to win.. they need the game to be grit and grind type of game... 2028 might be another 2004/2006 in the making. Which sucks because they have homecourt advantage.

Anyway USA has 4 years to find the right coach and players for 2028. The game last night should be a wake-up call for their program.

Think of it... LeBron became one of the best players even at his younger age, KD is also the same too.. none of those young guys have same aura as Bron and KD had.. this is a problem.. another problem for them is their ego.. are the likes of Edwards, Tatum, Haliburton, etc.. can put aside their egos and play as a team? I think in 2028 they need a leader to help the young players like Kobe did in 2028.. with KD, Bron and Steph retires, they need a one veteran guy to help the young players..

Though all stars and all nba awardees, none of them are in the Lebron-KD-Curry level

i think Jokic and Giannis are good for one more FIBA-Olympics Cycle, while Luka, Wemby and SGA are still in their early 20s

USA is in deep trouble in 2028 unless the five you mentioned would have a significant leap in the next few yrs
