Well, tbf, France has been medalling since 2010's.

4 of the last 5 editions of EuroBasket.
2 of the last 4 editions of the World Cup.
A silver medal finish in the 2022 Olympics.

I cannot say that they are overrated with those accolades. There is something wrong inside their federation I guess.

This isn't really about France tbf, it's the toxicity of hype culture around a single player. The NBA streams even titled France's game "Wemby and friends" lol. It's perfectly logical to say that Wemby is still leagues behind Lebron and KD after this game and he's stupidly overrated by casuals.

Yeah we could have been that team, but incompetent people running the show for SBP ruined it. But lets not take away anything from Japan, they deserved the recognition theyre getting as of this moment. At the end of the day, they took advantage of there olympic qualifier and we did not

I am not taking away anything from Japan. I am just irked about people being overly ecstatic about Japan. I am now feeling what a foreigner feels whenever there are Filipinos bragging things about Gilas.

Japan is good and improving and they won 3 of their 5 games last year. I'll give them that. But they lost their two games right now and I don't see what's to brag about? Not being a hater but these things also happened to Gilas and we had a different reaction.

There's nothing but props to give for Japan, I'm glad they even have full blooded players in the nba, being jealous about another succeeding in a sport you don't personally play is very pathetic. What pinoy fans should be giving attention to is how different the barometer is for judging Filipino and non-Filipino players. If Kai Sotto only won by 4 against Indonesia, his draft stock will tank to the 1st circle of hell but games like this does not matter for Wemby, it hasn't mattered since he got whipped by Lofton Jr because his trajectory is already supercharged by media hype. You have to acknowledge how unfair that is otherwise you're really just being a cuck

They are like Gilas under Chot.. we have also achievements in the past under Chot but that's it.. he didn't improve his coaching, resulting to disappointment past couple of years.. Collet didn't also improved his coaching since Parker retirement, or atleast we say the golden generation roster of prime Batum, Fournier, De Colo and Gobert.. he relied on player's talent, resulting to multiple achievements.. but he is also the coach who can't win even a single match against Sergio Scarliolo of Spain.. the two wins France got vs Spain, when Scarliolo was not the coach... Kindly overrated, maybe yes.. Obviously Parker bailed Collet's ass on those runs...it is only not a good sign when guys like Batum, de Colo, Gobert and Fournier nearing the end of their prime years... If france will not win a medal here, 100% sure Collet will be replaced...

As you also disrespect south Sudan since last year... Right? You even tell that south Sudan is one of the weakest teams in the world cup last year, you even said they can't win a game in the world cup games... Look at them now? Right? Guam and Japan have different goals... Guam just contended to be part of Asian elite.. as Japan looking towards world level competition.. and even you telling Kawamura is better than Arakji.. if that is not dickriding then what it is? Well, Gilas could have been that team had they completed their assignment. We could have gotten Dom Rep and Angola along with China had Chot and his staff did their homework. This is the reason why people really hated Chot - we already had the chance to do it at home but we did not. And the first mortal sin that SBP did was to place Chot back in the head coaching job.

That Angola game is very beatable... Gilas coaching staff led by Chot didn't focus beating Angola first.. it's also very sad that Lebanon w/o Arakji and Saoud beat same Angola team who beat us twice... We can't catch a break.. even China beat Angola.. that's why I always arguing against those people who mocking Lebanon just only beat Angola last OQT, whereas we can't beat that team twice...but you know, that is the beauty of FIBA competitions.. in the past, it's easy to determine who are the favorites.. now even team USA is not 100% sure of a gold medal even they send their Avengers...little by little, international basketball competitions are already nearing the same status of football competitions that everyone can beat each other...

I am setting aside the Japan hype. It is still quite amusing that the smaller Japan and Gilas teams are playing well outside Asia while China, Jordan and Iran can't do jacksh*t in the Worlds.

SoKor is the worst i cant remember when was the last time they beat a team outside of Asia in major tournaments, even at their peak SoKor always lay egg against team outside of Asia, yes they were able to beat NZ in qualifiers
